Handling the Tessera Rods made me seriously wonder how much influence Skeet really had on the design, because they don't seem very well suited for the application they're supposedly designed for. They're all like noodles, and you're supposed to fish jigs, frogs, and flip with these things?

Do yourself a favor and spend that $100 on something else. You may like them now, but after fishing with a crisp, sensitive rod with backbone, you'll forget all about them. For a little while I used to be hung up on St. Croix Premiers the same way, because they were the best rod I had tried up until then, and they were leaps and bounds better than the Ugly Stiks and Lightning Rods I used as a kid.

***Serious question folks. Is there a more overrated, overpriced, and overhyped rod on the market today in the $200 and under class, than the Skeet Reese Tessera?

I feel the carrot stix are as overrated as you think the Skeets are... I previously had a E21 Carrot Stick that i was totally unsatisfied with. Sold it on Ebay. I bought a carrot stick from Gander for 149.00 and had the tip snap on a cast. I brought it back and switched to the teserra...

I also have a St Croix 6'8" Avid and prefer the SR to it in most applications. 

I agree, his reels seem like crap to me. I use 3 shimano, a pennical, a phuger and a h20. Has anyone used the phluger presidant reel? Iv had it for about 4 or 5 years i think and it wokd like a champ. Its not a shimano....but gets the job done. Thanks for everyones opinion. Again, yes I know there are better rods out there. However, like Evans said, I enjoy having one brand of rods. I will be buying the 7' 6" honeycomb jig rod after I spend some $$$ on baits form TW.

Excellent choice on the 7'6" honeycomb, I molested one at the fishing store today. Can't wait to get one! I also use Pflueger Presidents and love them. Only have 2 but plan on getting more soon. Haven't tried the reels from W&M and don't plan on it. Why would I pay $99 for a reel like that when I can get Pfluger Presidents cheaper, a Shiman Caenan(also molested one of these today, love it), or a BPS Extreme Reel? Plus I have heard nothing but negative about the W&M reels! Love the rods though!!!

That was my views on the reels also. Why pay 100 when i can pay less and get a caenan/sahara. Or pay 20$ more and get a citica.
