i just placed my order for a 7' MF. I've been waiting to order rod for a while. I'll be sure to get back with a review as soon as Texas gets out of its winter cold

was this with the butt end completely screwed out? I'm curious as to how durable this extendable end is. But I am definitely interested in hearing more impressions from people who have used these.

I handled one a couple weeks ago at the Atlanta BPS and was surprised how gritty and rough the extendable butt section was. It may have just been that particular rod (they only had one in stock), but I put it right back where I had found it and walked away unimpressed.

I took one of the two Verdict spinning rods I have to my field to see how it would perform.

Rigged it Drop Shot style with a Roboworm.

Casted very easily for 100 feet.

Flipped and pitched over 40 feet with ease.

Nice balance and feel to the rod.

Will give it lots of use once it warms up in Virginia.

Yes, the butt was completely screwed out. I dont care much for the butt, it appears to be rough like stasher said.

For my style of casting, I only hold the very end of the rod when casting.  So if there is some kind of texture on the blank part that extends, it will not be an issue.  With that said, I wonder if it has some kind of texture to allow it to be held in place when it is either extended or retracted?

    I got to check em out a few months back. Put a reel on it and messed around with it. Didnt notice any 'rough butt' thing at all. The rod balanced very well. Personally I dont intend to adjust the butts at all, Im a big guy so I dont really need to shorten the rod butt. Besides I have other reaction rods for cranks, top water, and rip baits.

   One thing you need to keep in mind. The Verdict is a V rod, as are the Vendetta and Veritas. They are the same, but with different carbon quality. The Nano technology is neat stuff and allows them to make the rod blank thinner, while maintaining and increasing strength and sensitivity.

   Id suggest you check em out for your self. I also reccomend you take the reel you intend to put on the rod. Mount the reel on the rod, run the line through the eyes and then you can check it out. If you dont have any casting plugs get one and tie it on. Its the next best thing to fishing with it.

For the guys who have tried it, how stable is the screw end after you screw it tight? I am considering getting a few of these, but I'm afraid that the ends will come loose all the time when I cast because I like to hold the bottom of the rod when I cast.

I've looked at the Veritas, and thought that it was just another  Vendetta with different colors and different end caps, so I was not overly impressed.  I chose to get the Verdict based on a few peoples review and the higher micron rating 30 to 37.  I picked  up some casting plugs this weekend at Dicks's so I'll be out in the front yard like the commercial casting and flipping

  I had a chance to compare in store the Vendetta, Veritas, and the Verdict yesterday at my local BassPro. As you moved up from the Vendetta you could notice weight reduction and it seemed like the rods got more sensitive.

   Doesn't really mean much not having fished with them but I could tell a difference none the less.

I didn't mess around with the screw, since the rep. at the table took it off for me. Sorry, can't help you there. You might want to visit a local tackle shop, and try it out yourself.

Well I received my Verdict yesterday. I will post pics later tonight. First impressions, pretty light, slightly tip heavy when holding the rod pointed down, but once I held it upright, it was feathery light. I put a Premier on and toyed around for a few minutes. It balances pretty well, but the real test will be on the water. So I'll have to wait a couple of weeks if not longer before I even attempt to get on the water.

Ok SeanW, you don't have to rub it in.  And if you continue to do so, I just might have to jump in your tacklebag and tag along.  I'm only about the size of Gary Coleman 

LOL, no problem. But I dont use a tackle bag, but there is room in the rod locker.

I'm really itching to get a verdict,  but no place near me has them.  I plan on putting my new premier on it and using it for my senko rod.  I wish they made a 6'9" xfast like they do in the veritas.  I'll be using it around cover and docks in fairly close proximity and I'm thinking the 7 or 7'3 might be too long.

I did not really like the Verdict when I held it. The Veritas felt better to me... the extendable butt is a good concept but when it is all the way in it is uncomfortable

I agree the veritas feels better in my hand. The extendable handle feature would be better (and fit more techniques )  if it were just a bit longer to start with.
