Who makes this reel???

Featured Replies

What company manufactures the Cabela's Tournament ZX reels?  I know Daiwa and Abu Garcia makes some of their reels and those two companies also collaberated to make a couple as well.

the spinning tournament ZX is made by daiwa...says so right on the box and in their web product description.

the casting version is made by pinnacle i believe. it looks like a rebadged pinnacle solene (so are bass pro shop's tourney special and megacast reels...if you look at their profile and contouring, they're all identical).

where can i find schematics/part numbers on the internet.  this is all going back to my wanting to lower the gear ratio in a pflueger by the way.

jigging_it, IMHO, that is so not worth it. i've changed the ratio on many of my citicas and curados but, let me tell ya, it ain't cheap. by the time you get the main gear, pinion gear, key washers and appropriate drag discs, plus shipping and tax, you're looking at about $30. between 6.3:1 and 7.0:1 gear ratio is not that huge a difference.
