wacky jig

Featured Replies

just read an article about this new technique. Its when you take a straight tailed worm and wacky rig it with a jighead. Kotaro Kiriyama fishes and he thinks it will be an important new technique.

Saw it this fall but have not tried.

Looks promising.

Let us know when you try it and I will do the same.

Seen them doing it on angling edge one day with the berkley sinking minnows they were plugging for the day.Havent really tried it yet as wacky isnt my thing....May have to change that this year :-?

Wacky is my thing, but I have no need for a jig with that presentation. I fish as deep a 30' anyway and do not want a fast fall.

new technique.

Yeah, right ....... "new"  :;)

Started doing this last year, mid summer.  Works pretty good, I think it works about the same as fishing a shaky head, but has its times when it would work better.  fished it in one tourny last year behind a good friends boat, they were both throwing shaky, I was throwing wacky jig.  Caught 3 fish out that same hole, to their no fish.  I think it really comes down to what the bass have seen, shaky heads are being thrown a lot now, this is just a little different and will work for tight lipped ones that see the shaky head a lot.  just my 2 cents. 8-)

Not very new, and I have had little success the one place I've used it.

Some guys have great success with it though.
