Abu Garcia Vendetta question

Featured Replies

hey everyone(im new lol)

i decided i was am going to buy a abu revo sx andvendetta baitcaster in a few weeks(or maybe days)

I do most of my fishing from shore(cant afford a boat while paying for college), and the places i normally fish are wide open(behind and sides) but there are some spots i go to that have trees all around so my question is would i be better, going with the 6'6" or the 7' rod or if i can find the 6'9" somewhere

thanks for your help :)

I also fish from shore quite a bit. My favorite rod length is 6'8 so I would 6'9 MH would be a great setup for a shore fishermen.

If you need to make longer casts, flip or pitch the bait than 7'+ is the way to go.

Of course you need to get the most for your money but ideally a few different rods can help you fish any environment.

I fish from the shore as well and most of my BC rods are 7' but I do have one 6'6" setup as well.

one last question.

i have some lighter weight(3/16oz) spinner lures and was wondering would the 7' allow me to cast it out to a good distance from shore or should i go with he 6'6".( Still trying to find the 6'9")

Which 6'6"?  The M or the MH?

If you're casting from the shore, have no problem transporting a 7' rod, and have plenty of room to swing a 7' rod without whacking a tree or bush, go with the 7 footer. The extra distance you can get with the 7' may come in handy some day.

The M unless you think the MH would be a better fit

I used the 6'6" M all of 2010 and used it for flat side and shallow cranks, spinnerbaits and topwaters.  I picked up the 6'6" MH in Sept and fished it for a couple of months.  I liked it better for shallow cranks and spinnerbaits.  The 6'6" M was better for flat sides and topwaters.
