telescoping rods

I'm looking at getting a new rod this year and iv got my eye on the tec spec 7'6" telescoping flipping rod. but i picked one up in the store and the eyes were crooked and the eyes were facing hard left and it wouldn't budge. granted it was only one rod that was like that. I'm just worried bout the blank twisting on me like that one in the store.

If you take care of the rod it shouldn't happen. A fly fishing friend taught me to use the oil in your hair to keep your rods from locking together when using telescopic or two/three piece rods.  If you can place it back where it needs to go each time you can realign your guides to where they need to be everytime you go to use it.

I guarantee you that a little kid picked up that rod and just pulled it very tight... I have one and lOve it because you can store it so much easier

I agree. A lot of rods in stores get damaged don't let that sway you. If you liked the feel, weight, balance. I'd say get it.
