Spring Cleaning!

Featured Replies

Well, I guess its not spring yet. But When you have nothing else better to do, why not get started on getting those reels clean, oiled, and greased?

Two down, 5 more to go! I can't imagine how much some of you guys with a boat full of rods and reels dread this part ;D

I take my rods and reels to a guy in Powhatan, Virginia who does a great job at a very fair price.

I don't want to chance messing up a reel as I am famous for having one or two parts left over after putting something back together again.

Have fun and get those rods and reels looking and working like new.  :)

already done over here, in fact im taking my first trip of the year to a lake this weekend, cant wait to get there, im already to go fishing gear wise...

Had my reels cleaned and serviced back in december and have them back on the rods now and waiting on the warmer weather here this weekend to get out for at least an hour or so....

Gonna feel good

I can completely understand that. I myself am a mechanic, so I'm all about taking stuff apart and generally have no problem putting them back together. I just make sure everything is in sight, and don't really miss anything when going back together.

I did mine yesterday and talk about getting the bucket bug quick!  All I can think about is breaking the oil film on a bubba for the first time this year!

I love cleaning and lubing reels. I used to do it for my fishing buddies and now I do it for some of the tournament guys in Indiana. I'm not satisfied until they are smoother than when they were new. I also enjoy super tuning and trying different bearing combinations. (Ceramics, etc.)

Well we still have 10+ inches of ice, it only recently started warming up. That, and I had a woman taking up all my time the last 3 months, but now that thats over, I have time to get to getting ready for spring.

We still have ice here too. I just took apart and cleaned my 5501 c3. Thinking about giving my pq's a go but the c3 is the first real I've ever taken apart like that.
