I know what the differences are between the 100 and 103, and I know that the general feeling is use the 103 for pitching light baits and the 100 for casting distance.  I want to use one for 1/4 oz crankbaits.  If I put 20lb braid on a 103 will I get the reel to cast light lures but still have casting distance?

1/4oz id go with the 103.i have both.once you get to about 1/2oz i switch to the 100.

I have all four models and prefer the 100SHA most of the time.

103 HA Lightweight tackle short casts

100 HA Swimbaits & Deep Cranks

103 SHA Jig/Frog

100 SHA Everything Else

steezy im a lefty so i have them all too.guess it costs more being a righty ;D

i do with they made a 7:1 for leftys though :'(
