Anyone remember these?  They were a classic 40 years ago.  The bigger ones had 4 (!) treble hooks that would snag anything they came near but they had a great high-speed wobble.  There was a code stamped on them defining the action but I could never figure out the code: X2, U4, F2.  You'd think the F would stand for "floating" but you'd be wrong.  Are these still being made?

I had some in an old tackle box plus I inherited a few from my Dad so I'm going to update the hooks and play with them this spring.  Maybe all the new bass haven't seen one so I'll take them by surprise.

I know the Helin's and Lazy Ike are still around, maybe others too, I don't know. Many lures fade away for various reasons, but I doubt that these flatfish would be any less effective today than they were in days of old.

They're still around.  I have a few I use for trout.

My grandfather had a few that I would use when we went fishing.  Always caught a bass or two on them.

I've never caught a bass on one.. They do work great trolling for trout though.
