There goes the Neighborhood...Moving to Dallas

Featured Replies

I figured I would warn all you Texans, there will be another Hog invading your land in a few weeks.  We are moving to Carrollton at the end of August.

I know there are several good lakes around the area.  I have read a lot about Ray Roberts on this board.  And I know BASS has had Elite Series Events at Eagle Mountain Lake, Lake BenBrook, Lake Grapevine, and Lake Lewisville over the past few years.  So it looks like I am going to have plenty of opportunity to fish.  Ohh.. and Fork is just East of Dallas!!!!!

I also plan on joining a Bass Club as soon as I get down there.

Am I missing any good lakes?  And if anyone knows about the 100 or so bass clubs that appear to be in the area, let me know.  I am leaning on Century Bass Club now.  It is a BASS Federation Club.

Pm sent.    Lets go fishing this weekend.    Alls you gotta do is drive about an hour and its on.   I'll have the camera, you catch fish.

Carrollton is about 40 minutes with no traffic from me.    I'm east of Dallas/Mesquite on the edge of Terrell and I 20.

Does this ever happen?

Travel early and later than normal traffic hours and its not so bad.   I only know 635 to 35 N, and up until last year, there was construction always going on.   That area that bottle necked on 635 is moving better since completion.

Now that the new Bass Pro Shop opened, i don't have as much need to travel towards Ft. Worth to the Grapevine BPS.

Sorry you can't make it this weekend.    I have 3 day tourney on Fork 14-16th, I also have Bassmasters on Fork on the 8th during Sept..

When you get the itch, give me a pm or shout out.    We'll hook up.

Anytime soon Tommy,   Chris and I have been on for the last month.    Been taking some 22"+ fish every trip.    Lots of toads up to 8lbs.

I fished an open at night recently,   I caught two legal fish that weighed in at 4.13, the other 13 weight 4.5+  up to 8lbs, and five ot those were all over 23 but under 24.

My brush piles in the deep water are holding good fish.    Can't wait for Sealy's to get here.    I have only sampled a few areas briefly and my big worm bite is good, I haven't and won't shake a jig until Sealys in those areas.

Hookem

Football is just around the corner.

Matt if you win that triton can I have the Basscat, would even leave the Horns emblem on it  :)

Tommy,

We could work a deal on the new Triton.    I'm afraid you might lose some friends fishing the pond with UT as a signature of the boat and Bevo riding shotgun.

I would like to know if that special color of yours comes in any larger version, does any other worm companies have one even close to 10 plus inches.

I'm not having any issues with my favorite, but have scored with your color on Fork also.      I'm pumped and still got 29 days to go.

Sorry Matt the company that made them in 10 went out of business so we gonna have to settle for 71/2.

It wouldn't bother me to have UT on the motor  :)

Hope you & Chris Kill em  ;D

Well we ended up in Euless.  We backed out of our contract on the house in Carrollton.  I have been to Grapevine once, Cedar Creek once, and Lewisville many times.  I like Lewisville.  It has been tough, but there are enough tournaments on there to make me want to learn it.

I want to hit up Ray Bob.  It looks like the lakes I grew up fishing on.  I miss the cypress trees, lilly pads, hydrilla, milfoil of Millwood in SW Arkansas.

i havent been to ray in forever, but i need to go too. my brother lives in useless also, how are you likin it so far?

Beats the, you know what, out of Texarkana, TX and Conway, AR.

Too many tournaments, I don't know which ones to fish.  Will for sure be hitting up Bass Champs north next Spring.

Met Matt Fly on the lake a few weeks ago.  Great guy.  Hopefully we'll be splitting some checks next year.  I just hope none of my friends see me fishing out of a boat with the longhorn logo covering the motor.  He might wake up one moring and those horns will be upside down.   stache.gif  notexas.gif

im new to bassfishin so i dont know about many tournies but hopefully in the future i will be entering some. Good luck with whatever you do.Maybe when you fish the lakes you can give ME some info on them, i havent been since last weekend and due to work it looks like it will be a few more weeks before i go again :'(.

Sunday was glassed on the lake all day for the most part. L Train, my transmitter for my Trolling motor flew away.      I was highly upset for my bonehead mistake. I had 9lbs on 4 at noon, my best time yet to come, but being DIW with no way of operating the trolling motor, I was frustrated.

I did catch supper, had nice Yellow cat on crank in the livewell. I called it a day at noon. Made it home for the girl friend parents to show up and the Cowboys game.

Went to BassPro last night and bought two hand held transmitters and i'm going to get another wireless footcontrol at Lake Fork Motor Guide USA Parts. Came out spending 140. on cranks, and 120 on transmittters.

I'll mail off the 2 entries for Dec 1 and 8th later today.

I'll bring cash.   8-)

That sucks about the transmitter.  You need to put something on your dash to remind you that thing will fly.

I have been trying to stay away from BPS.  They have been getting too much of my paycheck.  And they will be getting some more soon b/c i am updating my graphs and I have had my eye on a Revo STX for a while now.

Good to hear you found em.  I hope the weather cooperates and we can find that magic dock.  You crank em and I'll jig em.
