Lake Fork, Texas

Featured Replies

I'm heading down to Lake Fork this weekend for 5 days of fishing starting March 3.  How's the fishing down there?  I have never fished it, but the guy I am going with went this same time last year and they did pretty good.

I've heard the lipless crankbait bit is pretty good right now.

We have a good report on here from Tom Redington.   Very detailed.

And I'm gonna send you a video from a week back on baits and water temps on Fork.

A nice video for you to watch about fork and tactics.    Breaking down the temps, the mud blown creeks that just got a shot of water last week.   This video breaks down the temps and why to throw a certain bait over others.   And as the temps warms in the day, what to expect the bass to do.

email sent,

Never met him, but we've tried, whatever Matt says just do it!  Fork can be fun and it can kick your behind.  Just do what the locals say, rayburn red traps, red/orange spinner baits, black n blue jig n pig and a swim bait for good measure.  Do not get bummed, the next cast may be a sharelunker!

Thanks for the info guys.  Matt, that's a good report and video makes it better.

Yeah, I'd love to get a sharelunker.  My buddy had a nice one on last year on a trap that he lost at the boat.

This year I'll be there...I'm better with a net than his last partner!   ;D

Glad you liked it,

Some great reports coming in from Fork.   Warming as we speak and the wind has layed down today thus far.    Looking like a sweet day, too bad I'm working.
