Ist Annual Br.com kansas angler meet

Featured Replies

I know we already have a thread for it, but I'm just trying to get an idea of who is going to be there or not.

If you are coming say so, and what you are bringing for food afterwards.

One more thing, what time do you guys want to launch?

im all for doing this but not to be too critical, do you think it might be better to post-pone the meet until more desirable conditions? i personaly would be scared to death to have a small boat on a lake when the waters might not be 50 degrees. the lakes around here are still iced over.

once again, sorry if i stepped on some toes.

Thats what i was thinking, but u also have a bunch of tourney guys that are busy the rest of the year, im fine with this because i already have it al planned out to be there

The 10-day forecast down here looks pretty good. Temps are gonna be in the 40s-50s so I feel pretty confident the ice is gonna melt off.

What's everyone else thinking?

my first tourny is the 8th at LaCygne. but, im going to be in vegas up to friday the 7th so i have no idea what shape im going to be in. i personaly dont mind missing an event for an all kansas get-together but i wonder how many guys are holding back due to the conditions. i hate to be a nancy lol but driving 5 hours to fish the hardest conditions you could imagine might not be a big draw.

but either way, its up to you guys.

That's kind of my thinking.  Call me a "nancy boy" as well. ::) :)

Ok sounds like there are a couple people not coming but who is willing and wanting to come?

  • Super User

i think its also fair to ask whos willing to go under better conditions.

KU, if it is five hours to Bone Creek, then you must live in Ellsworth or west.   ;D  I can get to KCI in less than two hours and I live 20 minutes south of Bone Creek.  I know the water is going to be cold and am not opposed to putting it off a couple of weeks, but there are fish to be caught and can be, even in cold water.

Whatever y,all think, I don.t care.  If I'm not in Texas I'll be there.

That was skunked_again's comment.  Not mine.  I think he might need to invest in a better map.  Or he knows about a "scenic" route that I don't know about ;D ;D ;D ....... Get on 69 highway ..... take a right and you are there :) ;D

you mean i dont have to drive back home afterwards?............lol

hey im all for whatever. id just rather have better conditions on a piece of water ive never seen and most likely wont catch many fish if any 18" fish. a little heat in the water might be nice for the guys who dont fish the place 50 times a year.

Lets do it because i already have it all setup for me to be there, i haven't fishing it in years.  This will seperate the men from the boys

Ohhhhh. That's a mighty bold choice of words  ;D

Ouch, game on!  Hopefully the water will warm up a little by then but you can probably leave the topwater boxes at home.

Doubtful......well....I guess there's a first for everything...  ;D

Game on! Weather appears to be fluctuating still. Looks like they put rain/snow in the forecast for next Thurs so I'll guess we'll see what happens.  :-/

We plan on being there. May not catch a lot of fish, but can trade a lot of fish stories.

We = 3

Going to stay in Pittsburg Friday night before the meet.

Guys n gals, the directions I gave y'all early in this thread are to the Rocky Point Ramp.  Good map, by the way.  This is, IMHO, the better of the two ramps and would be less gravel road travel.  If anyone else is staying in Pittsburg Friday evening, there is a 'sports' bar down town in the 500 block of North Broadway called JB's Sports Bar and Grill.  Cold beer and decent food.  It would be a good place to meet.  PM me if you want.

Yup, ring fry and the old guys  ;D can goto JBs. We can either goto bootleggers and flirt with high school girls (that should be right up your alley!  :)) or goto Yummy buffet and stuff our faces  ;D

Did we ever decide on a launch time?

Oh BTW, next Sat is on the 10-day forecast now. Looks to be overcast with a high of 53 degrees. 20% chance of rain  :-/ We'll see how it pans out, it looks like it's gonna be fairly warm next week.

Ok guys, who all is coming?  If you are eating with us at the lake what are you bringing?  We need to get an idea of who is going to be there etc.
