Hydrilla on Lake Conroe

Why is Hydrilla such a major problem on Lake Conroe and not on Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend?????

Look at who owns most of the property around Lake Conroe.

Some are retired, and some are weekenders, but most have recreational boats, not all, but alot do.   They have money and pay property taxes and would like to be able to use the lake.

What kind of fun is it for owners who have hydrilla mats that prevent them from fishing off their docks, or swimming from their docks.   Makes it a pain in the butt to get their boats in and out of their boat houses/stalls.

Conroe would be one of the best lakes in Texas if they would leave the grass alone.     In Conroe's short time long ago before the grass carp was turned loose, she was kicking out some 15 pounders and then the grass got ate and the bass went down hill.

From tournament results from this year alone are showing it takes some 25+ pounds to have a chance to win.    Some great sacks have came out of there this season.    Big fish as well.

Rayburn doesn't have alot of property owners, its mainly national forest park land.

Toledo Bend is primarily good ole folks that fish for supper and sport.    You'll have some areas that are good for recreational activities, but timber filled lakes have a way of keeping them located in certain areas.
