  1. What is the latest on Sam Rayburn?? Hows the water?? What are the bass doing?? Catt hasn't fished the lake, Fishfordollars is busy becoming a grandfather and fishing Conroe and Mattfly I don't know. Thanks Dutch
  2. I have only fished the lake twice and it was in the middle of the summer. It is a slot lake, lots of cypress trees, and litterally choked with vegetation. There are some large bass in the lake. We fished along the boat cuts throwing up next to the vegetation and to the trunks of the cypress trees with worms and spinner baits. Our biggest bass was 18" Dutch
  3. Catt!! How was your trip on T-Bend over the weekend??? The day time fishing was tough for me. I fished the long ridge just south of Millionaire Point both days. We caught upwards of 15 bass, but all but 2 were small throw backs. We also had a bunch more bites, but we were fishing with 10-11.5 worms and they were biting the worm in half and not getting the hook. I don't know if they were small bass, or bream. I learned allot about your structure fishing and will continue to print off your lessons on structure fishing 101. Thanks Dutch
  4. Catt!! Looking forward to your critique of fishfordollars plan for fishing Oil Well Cove and Jesse Lowe Bay. Thanks Dutch
  5. Catt!! I'm on top of it, making a copy of everything you say, and as you know I will be trying it out this weekend. Jack (fishfor dollars) I am in there all the way with Catt and with you for Raburn. Dutch
  6. You can rest assured the grass or any other vegetation won't be there long with all the grass carp we have in there. When I fished it a few weeks back, I couldn't find any grass. It's too bad they could not have had a little more patience and gone a little slower as not to devastate the lake like they did the last time. Fishing on Lake Conroe is excellent right now, in a year it will be back to terrible again. There has to be a happy medium there somewhere.
  7. We are going to have a small club tournament on Lake Limestone. Does anyone have ANY information about the lake that might be helpful???????? Thanks Dutch
  8. congratulations on your win!! Dutch from Conroe
  9. Why is Hydrilla such a major problem on Lake Conroe and not on Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend?????
  10. Welcome to Texas!!! You came to the land of milk and honey for bass fishing when you came to Texas. When you get your feet on the ground you just have to try some of our larger impoundments, Sam Rayburn, Toldedo Bend, Lake Fork, Choke Canyon, just to name a few. There are a few smaller bass lakes not too far from you, Lake Grapevine, Possum Kingdom, Lake Granbury, and Lake Whitney. They all have bass. Catfish are all over the place and just starting to spawn. Here on Lake Conroe you can catch them anywhere along the bulkheads. Just walk anong the shore and haul them in. Cut shad works about the best, but practically any stink bait will work. Good luck and good fishing
  11. Has anyone fished or heard anything about the fishing on Lake Livingston lately???
  12. I buy those small snack paks in the meat counter at the super market. They have 8 small rounds of ham or turkey, 8 small squares of cheese and 8 crackers. You can throw them in your mouth and continue fishing. I also buy those half cans of soda as I don't have time to drink a big can.
  13. Catt!! Thank you so much. Will make a trip to Gander Mountain in the morning and leave tomorrow evening. Dutch
  14. I have a small club tournament out of Lowe's Creek this week-end. Does anyone have any information they would like to share as to areas, water depth and baits??? Thanks
