I'm planning a trip to the Waco, Texas area the last week of December, 2008.  How's the bass fishing in Texas that time of year and where are the best places to bass fish?

i live in Waco.  there is lots of surrounding lakes to fish, plus Lake Waco right here in Waco.  if you have a boat you will be much better off, if not, send me a PM and i will tell you where i fish from shore.

My brother has an 18' pleaure boat that I planned to use as a bass boat.  It has a fishfinder but no trolling motor.

My brother lives in Clifton, TX, just north of Waco but I can travel within a 1 day trip.  2 days if the fishing is really good.

Lake Waco is a good little lake imo . There is a lot of shallow wood cover and a little grass. Lakes Belton and Stillhouse are about 30-40 miles away. There are some good fish caught out of Stillhouse. Belton is more of a numbers lake. If I can help let me know.
