Looking for a fishing destination March 7-14

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone knew of any good lakes or rivers to bass fish during these dates.  I live and go to school in Northeast Iowa but my buddy and I are willing to drive a reasonable distance if need be.  Two springs ago we went to Lake of the Ozarks and the bite was hard, we didn't catch much but it was a fun trip none-the-less. I will consider any and all suggestions so any responses are greatly appreciated.

There is a private game/fish preserve near Huntsville, MO.  The cabin rental is very inexpensive, but it costs $100 a day to fish.  The $100 includes a boat and trolling motor.

East Texas.  By far the best area to go this time of the year.  Tons of lakes, BIG bass and fairly inexpensive.  If that is not an option, then SE Kansas can be really good that time of the year.  Big Hill and Bone Creek lakes + over 250 strip pits, open to the public, have some excellent bass fishing as well as crappie, walleye, cats and even a good trout pit.  Come on down!

RW, I would love to have you come down for a couple of days.  It sure as heck isn't Fork or east Texas but there is a bunch of good fishing around here.  Good job over the kitty cats the other day!  :)

No doubt...East Texas, Fork specfically.  I go there every year round that time and we catch numbers and size.  Great all around lake and by that time you can pretty muck catch fish on anything you wish to throw!!
