Kincaid Lake

Featured Replies

Anybody round here ever fished Kincaid Lake in Central LA. Got my first club tourney on it Feb. 7th and I have never fished it before. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have fished it two times on the south end (Lomotte creek) and did well using a jig. they have a lot of stumps in deep water.I never found a good map of the lake if you type in bathymetric survey of Kincaid lake you will find the only map I found that gives water depth but you have three boat landings one is north of the dam one is south of it the other is on the other side of the lake. the deepest water is 20'around the dam with some ridges up to 15' hope you do. well let us know how you did and I hope I was able to help

There are some back creeks that have LOTS of stumps and basically no way to get to them unless you do some four wheel bass boating and stump jumping.  There is a good point and flats close to the levy and Tunks Cypress inn.  Also may want to check out the railroad trussell...there is some good area with a lot of laydowns on the back side of it...  Fishing has been pretty tough.  Try a rogue, jig, senko...think outside the box a little and you should do fine.

Thanks ya'll, I am going out next Friday to practice a little, so I will try some of these places and let you know how I do.

Thanks for the help! :)

For a good map, try google earth and look up Kincaid Reservoir, Rapides.  That will give you a pretty good idea of where I am talking about.  There are three creeks on the east side, North, Central, and South.  The southern Creek is for some 4 wheel bassin', the Central has the railroad trussell and after you go through that you can find all kinds of timber.  There is also Some standing timber around the North Central penninsula that I have caught a few on a drop shot...but that has been pretty non productive for me lately.

Good luck and tight lines

well, I fished friday and me and a buddy of mine caught three on a baby brush hogs and mine was a little over 3 lbs, so I felt comfortable going into saturday.  Saturday morning I rode over to the bank where we caught our three and my buddy was already on that bank >:), so I ran across the lake and didn't get a bite all day.  My buddy won the tourney on that bank with a lil over 9lbs.  There were like 36 people fishing and only 6 or 7 caught a single fish, so I dont EVER plan on fishing Kincaid again.  One guy even said he wouldn't care if they drained it and built a Wal-Mart there!! ;D
