Big Wake Baits?

Featured Replies

I have been having good luck with Mann's Baby 1-Minus but would like to throw something larger, maybe 3"-4" long. Do ya'll have any recommendations for bigger wake baits?

I like the Baby also but try the 1 minus, the big one it works GREAT.  Also modifey a Red Fin, those work will.  Just heat up the lip on the Red Fin just a little and bend it down with pliers.  It works!!

I haven't seen any yet, but the new Mann's Waker is 3 1/4" long.

I'm not complaining.

I've got a couple of those Mann's Elite Wakers on order.  Shore fishermen on Lake Erie have been fishing with the biggest Redfins they can find for springtime walleye for a long time.  Cast them out and SLOWLY reel them back in, making them wobble on the surface.  Absolutely killer on walleye in the spring.  Point is.......they wake ;)

I looked at the Deps but no way can I throw a 25.00 crankbait even with braid. They definitely look sweet, especially the natural bass color.

I will look for the Waker at Gander Mountain.

I have been doing really good the past few weeks on buzzbaits and the Baby 1 -Minus but the bigger fish seem to prefer the bigger bait, at least this past week.

Bagley has the Bulgin' B series but they are a little difficult to find.  There are some on ebay, but not the bigger ones.

If you have a BB3 square lip you can experiment with heating the lip up and bending it to make it wake, but that could get expensive...
