What an IDIOT!
Red... Two Shimano checks arrived last Friday, no doubt I am pleased with Shimano for ignoring my mistake. SV

What an IDIOT!
I didn't mail them late expecting Shimano to honor them, I just messed up! I had a handfull of rebates including one for my Endura 50 and just missed the date. I called to check the status and they said I would not get a check because they were postmarked a day late. I didn't even bother asking for forgiveness, the rules are clearly noted on the form. They sure cast nice...just like my Cruxis

What an IDIOT!
I bought two Citica 200's during the rebate period, put together my rebates, scanned them for record, mailed them by USPS with delivery confirmation ONE DAY LATE....wahhhhhhhhWahdhh. At least they are nice reels.

What will push a 1448?
Max it out at 25 hp! I used a 6hp Evinrude on my 1456 Lowe and am now using a 9.2hp and I regret messing with either motor. It needs the 15hp that it's rated for and 20hp would give me a little room to play with.

What is the trick to pitching and flipping???
I either end up with a backlash, a 4' cast or extra line wrapped around my grip and drag. Please explain this in depth or post some links to good articles. Thanks!

Engine rebuild
How about checking the compression first? It may not need rings if the motor has not been abused or does not have excessive hours on it. It could be ignition or fuel related too. I have had good luck with motor issues on iboats forum.

makeshift anchor
They sell them at Walmart and Academy if your from the South. The best "found" anchor I have ever seen was back in 1974 on Lake Amistad. An old man pulled up near our camp and his anchor was three links of naval anchor chain; he said each piece weight 30 pounds. I tried a half a concrete block but the first time I moved it across the floor of my aluminum boat the screech made my teeth hurt.

How can I lock a transom mount trolling motor?
I have a MK Endura 40 and after two months I am sick of taking it off every night.

Conquered my fear of JIGS
What rod to ya'll use for jigs, especially with baits over 1/2 ounce? I am using a Castaway medium-light with a fast action and with a 1/2 ounce jig the retrieve is not bad but casting is awful.

Humminbird 565
My Lowe came with a Humminbird SX but no power cord. I bought a power cord for about 12.00 and the SX worked but started acting really wacky after a few months. My tax return is better than expected this year so I decided to replace the SX with a 565 after reading the reviews and based on the high resolution LCD. It took about 15 minutes to get it put together and mounted and about 5 minutes to set the basic functions that I was familiar with on the SX. I am very happy with it so far and I did not see any quirks that may be electrical interference since my 565 and the TM are close to each other and connected to the same battery. I thought this may have been the issue with the SX but it must be something else. The image is great and the backlight is white and not orange like the SX. The image is far superior to the SX. I think the dual beam is a plus in our shallow lake (1'-20') Tomorrow I want to find the bamboo habitat I have dropped over the last three months and marked with my GPS see how it shows up on the 565. In the hour I used it tonight, I found one or two obvious trees, a hole and a nice channel in a very shallow section of the lake. I did see a very wide (tall) band of artifacts and need to read the manual again see what it was. It almost looks like a thermocline but maybe not. It was apparent through a wide range of sensitivity settings. I think, but am not positive I saw a ball of baitfish several times.

Conquered my fear of JIGS
You know when you start out fishing a confidence bait and it doesn't work, you pick up the second string bait and throw it a while...well that was me tonight. I started out with a chart buzzbait and caught one, threw it another forty times and nothing. Switched to a Horny Toad and threw it twenty times and nothing. Then I picked up a pre-rigged 1/2 ounce green/brown jig with a green chunk and caught a fish almost immediately bottom bouncing, then another hit it as soon as hit the water. The last fish of the night grabbed it while it was slow swimming on the bottom. I am very pleased so far, it's been fun and a nice change from what has worked so well the last two months.

Trolling motor vibrating...
I went to Gander last night and bought the pin kit and a Weedeater II or whatever the special prop is for my Endura, mine had the Powerprop mentioned above. I pulled the prop and the pin was slightly bent and the recess in the prop that the pin fits in was cracked on both sides. My new prop and pin worked fine until I heat a stump and now it's vibrating again...30.00 bucks for nothing :-/

Trolling motor vibrating...
I will check the drive pin first. As far as speed, I have a light boat and the TM is 75% primary power at full speed and 25% trolling. I should probably just use it as is.

Trolling motor vibrating...
....it's an MK Endura 40 that I bought after Xmas. It has a small chip in one blade approximately the size of half a dime. Would this be enough to cause it to vibrate? Are there aftermarket props that offer higher speed? I have not found any for MK so I thought I would ask here.
