BlakeMolone Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Im going to be going to lake amistad the first week of june and was looking for some advice on lures and are the fish usualy deep when it gets hot or does it all depend on weather? Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted February 26, 2009 Super User Posted February 26, 2009 Fish the grass in 20-25 or 30 ' with a big jig or worm and you will get bit big. Water is usually very clear. Big Zara Spooks on the deeper points will draw strikes also. Drop shots and the usual other suspects will work. Quote
BlakeMolone Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 Thanks! Hopefulluy ill catch a big one 8-) Was thinking about bringing some swimbaits to. Quote
fvbaron Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 been there wice.. normal top waters early along weeds beds and structure... Used cranks between 5-12 ft. yellow, blue, crawfish colors.. worms were OK mostly C-rig to 15 ft...I stay fairly shallow in the depths.. It does get hot! Drop shot in 10-30 ft.. blue flake and pumpkin.. good luck Quote
BlakeMolone Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 Thanks! Ughh I bet it will be hot But mabey the fishing will be to Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted February 27, 2009 Super User Posted February 27, 2009 If you are fishing in June you better be up on deep water structure fishing. I would bet the better fish will be caught in the deeper grass on a big jig. Quote
BlakeMolone Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 Now 2 people have recomended big jigs on deep grass so thats what ill do! And thanks again im really hoping to hook into a big one! Quote
DawsonH Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Go at night and throw a big ol' black muskie jitterbug on top of them there grass beds. Will think someone is trying to drop bombs on your bait. Quote
