wilson lake, ks is hot!

Featured Replies

Not just the heat. the bass fishing as well. Our club had a tournament there this weekend and it was a good result. Friday we whacked the large and smallmouth on double buzzbaits early and late. The fish have moved off the cattails and sawgrass. Saturday I took first in the tournament with 12.83. several other bags went over the 11 lb mark. Going out I had heard the largemouth pop. was really down due to the white perch while the smallmouth bite was rockin. When I got there I found the opposite. The largemouth bite was rocking and the smallies must have went deep. All my fish came out of pockets with flooded trees. I was using a 4 in GYCB Shad shaped worm on a 6lb flourocarbon dropshot rig. And a lucky craft fat cb crankbait. The water is beautiful as always!
