I may be moving to Minnesota (Leech Lake area) in a few years. Are there any really good largemouth fisheries in Minnesota besides Minnetonka? I know a 6 pound bass is a giant up there though, they grow a lot slower than even in Colorado, let alone Texas or Cali.

You have no idea.   They call it the land of 10,000 lakes for a reason.  Your gonna finds tons of great fishing just a short jog into Wisconsin also, not to mention that the Mississippi lies between the two.

Leech Lake, Partridge Bay and Boy Bay on the east side has been excellent for LMB in the past. Try posting to this site:

There are a ton of little, overlooked natural lakes with almost untouched LMB populations in MN. Quite a few people dedicate themselves to walleye fishing and ignore the bass.

I'm about 2 hours South of Leech Lake, but I go up there sometimes and fish for LMB, crappies, walleyes or pike depending on the season.

That lake is so good you may not even want to search for another.

Leech is a premier Large mouth destination in this state, it doesn't get the publicity that tonka or someothers get but it is good. There are also thousands of small lakes in that area that are capable of 6lbers. The smallie fishing in that area can also be really good, you aren't but a couple hours away from some premier smallie fishing, Vermillion, Kabetogama, LOW, Rainy River, and tons of small water that is closer! If I had my choice I would be living up there right now, but the general says no way.

lake minnetonka is over rated. it gets so much pressure both by fisherman and recreational boaters not to mention the launch traffic. you can go to just about any lake and do great on the bass. do not overlook the smaller lakes.
