Lake Konawa

Featured Replies

Any of you oklahoma guys fished konawa lately.  I haven't fished in probably 10 years but was thinking of going on sunday.  Any tips or hotspots?

I've fished it quite a bit over the past couple of weeks, actually went today for a few hours. I've had good luck with lipless crankbaits in about 5' of water. The water temp in the NW part of the lake is anywhere between 57 and 61 degrees so the fishing should be great over the next couple of weeks. As far as any tips on where to fish, i'd say you couldn't go wrong with staying in the NW part of the lake since the water is warmer and focusing on points. I would try to describe the points where i've had luck on here, but i'm sure i couldn't describe it good enough for you to know where i'm talking about. If you want to send me a message or email i could probably mark them on a map of the lake and email you back.

I may even see you out there Sunday afternoon, just look for the SS Julia.......She's a 1956 Larson with a 69 Evinrude motor. She doesn't get anywhere fast, but she eventually gets there, lol.

I attached a pic of the biggest one i caught, its not a big one by any means, but he put up a good fight!

spraycrew, nice fish. how big is your boat? thanks

I have an old 14' 1954 larson with an 18hp motor. When i first got it i figured i would just fish watersheds with it, but since then i've been taking it to konawa alot. It does great until the wind gets over 15, then it becomes a little bit of a challenge......If the winds over 20 i keep my lifejacket close, just incase i have to abandon, lol.

You fish konawa stew?
