Obviously my first choice is to go fish the Gasconade river or Stocken or Table Rock Lake but those are really more of a multiple day fishing trip because of my location.

I've done a good bit of research on this subject and I'm left with no answers so I thought I'd ask here, is there anywhere to fish for Smallmouth Bass north of the Missouri river? I'm starting to believe there isn't. >

North of the Missouri River? Not so much.

If you look at a map of the geologic region called "The Ozarks", you're pretty much looking at the range of Smallmouth Bass in the region.

North of the MO river there is always Canada. 

The smallmouth last year on Stockton were almost nonexistent for me and I fish it a lot.

That's what I thought and I was afraid of that. I was hoping to find someplace within an hour or so but I guess I'll have to make a few more trips south of the river then I planned this year.

Google "200 Missouri Smallmouth Adventures" this is a book that if you live in MO and love to catch smallies...its a must have. Detailed maps, access points, distance between pools and fishing reports. I bought it a couple years ago, I think it was pretty cheap...well worth it
