Choke or Fork this weekend

Featured Replies

I am leaving Texas in a few months and I feel like I need to fish both of these lakes before I leave. I have a long weekend and I think it's time to check the block on one of them. I don't know much about either of them. I live an equal distance between the two, so distance is not a factor. I haven't really kept up with the fishing reports lately, so I'm hoping some of you can point me in the right direction. If you could fish either Choke Canyon or Lake Fork this weekend, which one would you choose?

Fork. And you can find some great detailed reports on it as well.

Very windy on Friday with thurnderstorms here in NE Texas.

Both Sat and Sun look promising, it just depends on if and how much rain falls on Friday if it muddies it up some.

I'd get a feel for weather and specially wind and make a smart choice.

Choke or Fork could get your rod bent.

Good luck and post pics when you nail that phat toad.

Fork was tough on Monday and Tuesday. Heavy winds and very stained. Didn't see or hear of any sign that the bass are spawning. We caught 9 in two days with the largest a touch over 5#s.
