  1. Good fishin there.
  2. Which tournament is that? What trail?
  3. Hey Brad, I'll preface this by saying I haven't been on the lake in months and I hear it's fishing pretty tough, but I still love fishing there. Super clear water with hydrilla, bluff walls and rock everywhere. It is a great topwater lake. And I'm talking middle of the day, bluebird skies, it "could" be on with a topwater. I always have a big spook and a yellow magic on deck there and will throw them throughout the day when I see something I want to target. Also a great opportunity to catch a smallmouth which is cool. Jigs, C-rig, crankbait, jerkbait, swimbait- Just throw what you have confidence in with natural colors and enjoy the scenery. Good luck.
  4. Only truly unhappy GW I have ever met were single guys in the border towns. Not much for a young single fella out there...but they knew it wasn't forever. On the flip side, it is pretty common for the new graduates to be stationed out there. But once again, if I had it to do all over again, I'd jump on it either way.
  5. If you are that into the outdoors and have a CJ degree, why not look at being a game warden? I would do it in a heartbeat if I had to do it all over again.
  6. What/where is 944 Catt?
  7. If you spend time on Amistad, you will ditch all previous fears/notions of how deep big largemouth bass are comfortable taking residence. Then you will start pushing limits on local reservoirs and find fish that most people don't fish for. My biggest fish of the year (9#) and highest tourney finish this year cameon Rayburn out of 38 fow on the bottom- not suspended. The other four in that bag and the culls before it were caught from that spot on this point up to 26 fow. Don't think a spot is too deep to hold quality fish if everything they need is there. Tbend has the same places.
  8. Hey Catt, I was on here quite a bit a few years ago before Jack passed away. Just started lurking again a few weeks ago. Sure miss Jack....I know you guys were pretty tight there the last little while. Hope you're doing well.
  9. My partner and I will be there. Btw, hilarious post on TFF ***atic.......made my morning. Those cats get their feathers ruffled pretty easy. Well done.
  10. Don't get me wrong....I love Lake Fork as well....just trying to appease the troll who started this post to stir the pot.
  11. Jack, stayed in the good ole' US of A. I just don't see any reason to cross those big pylons. Got there @ 4 on Friday and caught that 8-14 with a few others; fished four hours Saturday morning and had 32# on five with the 9-8 kicker; caught a couple of good fish Saturday evening and ended Sunday morning getting broke off three times and hook bent straight once. Good enough for me. ;D
  12. Falcon last Friday Next morning 8-)
  13. Don't know if anyone has already seen this, but the Elites are coming to town April 14-17, 2011. Schedule was just released on bassmaster.com. Can you imagine the boat lane traffic?
  14. Only advice I can offer is to make sure that you have the latest update loaded from Humminbird.com.
  15. Jarrod, PM me your dates you will be home and if I have even a half a day, I will be glad to take you out there. I am so grateful for what you are doing for me, my family, and our country. I am certainly not a stick out there, but we will catch some fish and I will show you some spots and techniques. I have been in Indy at the race or I would have replied sooner.
  16. Well, I am definitely not Jack, but was there last weekend and here is my .02. They seem to be just about everywhere. Caught fish shallow flipping, 2-6 out of the grass with SB and topwater, and 15-20 with c-rig. With the wind laying down for the first time in a couple of weeks this Friday, I am fishing deeper this weekend. The shallow fish have been getting pounded by any and all boats that were out there trying to stay out of the wind. Good luck.
  17. Hey fellas, The wife and I have a couples tourney in a couple of weeks out of Cassell-Boykins. Anybody have a good suggestion for a place to stay close to the ramp? All of the places I have stayed are on the South end. I appreciate any help. Tom
  18. Fork. And you can find some great detailed reports on it as well.
  19. Good luck Jack.....hope you load up.
  20. I love this lake. Caught this morning on a crankbait. First DD of my life at 10.25#
  21. So I plan a last minute trip to Falcon and my buddy can't make it. I am going either way....but it would be nice to have someone to help with expenses. Plan to leave Humble early Friday (13th) and return late Sunday (15th). Could actually stay through Monday if wanted. Staying at Oso Blanco. Pretty easy gig for someone wanting to go and pretty cheap as well (probably @ 200 total). I was on a ton of quality fish(not hard to do there, I know) @ 6 weeks ago and am expecting the same. Just IM me if interested.
  22. I cannot help you with guides, but I think Oso Blanco is a pretty decent spot to stay. Decent rooms (@$60), ramp on site, large creek to fish if there is a north wind. The wife and I enjoyed our stay there a few weeks ago.
  23. Plus, Julianne Hough will be performing on Sunday
  24. I for one will be there watching the leaders. I haven't had the best of luck there lately and am curious to see what the best in the world come up with after a few days practice. The PAA is the association putting it on and I believe Tim Horton is the Pres., so you can be pretty sure he is scheduled to appear. They award points to the FLW and BASS guys based on their individual trails and the other PAA tourneys (if any) they fish. (ex. KVD is in the top couple in points, but has not fished their tourneys) There will be some serious sticks there though for sure (45K for first, I believe)
