So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
I already told Jack it is almost unfair to his club for you two guys to be in the same boat on that lake! 8-) I expect you guys will have a good educated guess on a few patterns that would work before the lower unit hits the water. Good luck to you guys.

Wish me luck.
Good luck, I hope you limit by 8:00 and cull 10 times! You have one more fishin set-up than you have food and "ready"items. Now that is prepared. I usually head out with one sandwich and 6 diet cokes.

Academy- Humminbird 717
Academy has the 717 on sale for $129 (reg $199). Another $80-$100 for the GPS puck and you have a better than decent dual beam with GPS for under $250. This is a pretty good deal for the budget minded people out there.

Triton boat setup-Need Help
Awesome Jig Man... I have never driven your boat or I would not have written that post. I am happy for you and hope I can find that on my next rig. I honestly have never experienced or heard of a boat going that fast with absolutely no chine whatsoever at any time. Nice to know it is out there though.

Hello from Houston, TX
Not that I am aware of, but it is really not necessary. When you post on "Central" you generally will get lots of replies from locals.

Triton boat setup-Need Help
At 70+ miles per hour, any set-up on any boat at one time or another is going to give you some chine walking...you have to know how to drive out of it. So I would suggest ALOT more seat time and then play with it if you feel you may be able to improve it. Otherwise just realize that 70+ will get you there a couple of minutes before me (and 98% of the rest) and be HAPPY!

First time practicing jig.
Bought my first Megastrike Evolution jigs a couple of months ago and am now hooked. I have fished jigs forever and have never had the fish catching confidence that I now have. Go to the website, watch the video, order a (or multiple) jig and try it out. I have never felt the feedback, had the #'s of bites, and strength of bites as I currently have fishing these jigs. BTW, if you tournament fish in Texas....I am just kidding these jigs are not worth your money!! LOL! :-X

Who is a member of bassmaster's?
kikstand, If I recall correctly, it took a LONG time to get my first issue when I joined during the fall a couple of years ago. Then it seems I got one every two weeks for a couple of months. It has been more regular every since then. Can't explain why, just don't feel like the Lone Ranger.

Lake Conroe is Hot
One of the best things about this site..............you do have a boat available if you can just coordinate a date. My back seat is open more times than not when I go fishin. I am pretty booked with family obligations the remainder of this month, but could probably set something up the beginning of December if you like. They will probably be in a more reliable cold weather pattern by then anyway. More than likely a tougher bite, but at least I would have an idea where to look and what to chunk. (and if we found 'em they would more than likely be bunched up) Keep in touch if you are interested.

Lake Conroe is Hot
Red, About 2 1/2 hours SE, mostly on Tx Hw6. If you decide to make the trip, let someone know and you will not have to drag a boat down. I go there as often as i can (which is not nearly as much as I'd like).

Lake Conroe is Hot
Fished the Sunday Stow-a-way tourney three weeks ago and had one keeper. Overall results for the tourney were very weak. Had the best tourney bass fisherman I know fish a tourney there last weekend and weighed in two fish....granted one was a lil' over 8#. Feast or Famine as far as I am concerned. I can tell you the 8 came off a private boat dock in the Southern end on a jig. Sorry I can't be more help.

Trolling motor Question
I have a guy that is trying to sell a Motorguide tour that only runs on "high-bypass". Can anyone give me a best case, worst case scenario on what it might cost to get it fixed. Just an idea if I should pursue it or run. Thanks in advance for your help.

Compression test (2000 evinrude 115 FIHCT)
Make it easy, take it to a tech that works on Evinrude. He will do the check and look for other things as well. I bought a '99 Nitro with a 200 Merc and the seller paid for the mechanic. I suggested it, he bit....done deal. But to answer your question, it is my understanding that the # should be above 100 and all very close together. Good luck!

Caddo Lake Tx
Don't know how long you are staying, but you are only @ 2 hour trip to Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend from there. If the prospects do not look great at Caddo there are guys on here that will help you with some patterns on the other two. Good luck either way!

Elite Marshalls
WOW! Yeah, it makes no sense to me either and NO I will not be giving $100 to BASS in addition to traveling to the venue, paying for a hotel room, paying for my food, etc. I guess for the local who goes out to the lake in his own boat to follow an angler around anyway, it would make a little more sense. But I do not see KVD launching into Lake Houston or Lake Conroe anytime soon. ( Although I do think the sack #'s would be heavier out of Conroe than the Red River)

Critique a resume?
just funny how a thread gets derailed by the "gifted english" police and someone throws out "If I were to sponsor a person, I would look for somebody who talks to people in a comfortable and friendly mannor rather than somebody talking above or beyond the client level. JMO.

Hi All
Welcome....I usta could do a lot of thangs too...lol

my first tourney
Relating to what 618 wrote, I only fish what I have confidence in as well during tourneys. Another thing I learned from a pro on fishing from the back of the boat is to fish different from the guy in the front. Throw a different style and/or different lure than the guy in the front. His point was that he can guarantee my lack of success as he has hit every potential spot with that lure before i get the chance. Ex. If he is throwing a spinner bait, maybe I am throwing a shallow running crankbait; he is c-rigin, I am throwing a jig. It really helped me have more success in tourneys before I got my own boat. Good luck on your next one and let us know how you do!

power pro braid knots.....
I have used it in the past....and had it fail...but that was a long time ago. I have used palomar exclusively for awhile; knowing that it will not fail.

my first tourney
But didn't it feel special? I love the competitive environment of a tourney. Get me on a lake on a casual day without figuring out a pattern in a few hours and I am thinking about my wife and kids at home. Sign me up for a tourney and I am prefishing 12-13 hours straight the 3-day weekend in advance and not sleeping the night before the tourney. The longest stretches I have gone in my marriage without talking to my wife was during tournaments! LOL! Just keep chunkin' it Bro'.

97 Nitro Livewell help??
I have a '97 19' Nitro that I have had @ a year. Need some help from someone on how the livewell is supposed to work. I have two console switches (three point toggle type) for water and one for "recirculate". I realize that the two water switches turn on two pumps and fill it quickly...one switch/one pump...not so quickly. 1.What is the recirculate supposed to do? 2. Why am I losing water out of the well (like all of it) when I run across the lake? :-? I know these are simple questions, but I am really perplexed. :-[ Thanks in advance for the help.
