Table Rock Guide Needed...

Featured Replies

Anyone have good experience with a guide on Table Rock?

We'll be heading to Branson in mid-July with all of my wife's family. The trip will the equivalent of a 6 day migraine.

One bright spot is that the father-in-law wants to hire a guide to take the brother-in-law and me fishing. That's 4 in a boat including the guide. 3 if somebody accidentally falls in. I've been charged with finding the guide. If you've had a good experience with a Table Rock guide, please let me know.

I also would like to rent a pontoon to take the kids swimming/fishing. Any advice on this, feel free to share.

I hear that Andy Williams or the Bald Knobbers will guide for you.   ;)

The link below provides a number of names but I don't know who would be best.  I didn't use a guide when I visited Table Rock though it's a very good idea.

From reading another forum specific to Ozark lakes, others have had good things to say about the following:

Bill Babler (Table Rock Guide Service)

Don House

Rick LaPoint

Bill Beck

Eric Prey

Pete Wenner

I've never used any of these guys, but have read great things about them from folks who have.  And if they aren't available they will most likely suggest a very good guide as an alternate.

Stayed at Big Cedar a couple of weeks ago.  They have a nice marina, and rent bass boats and pontoon boats 1/2 day or a full day (or you can get a slip and bring your own).  Nice facility and resort.
