Wichita area guides

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I'm moving to Wichita next month. Can anyone recommend any guides in the area that can put me on some fish and teach me about the fishery?

This ain't Florida!   ;D  Next month, the north wind will be howling about 30 mph and the temps will be in the teens to the thirties.  To answer your question tho, I think there are a couple of guys that guide on El Dorado lake and probably on Kaw Lake.  Be patient, spring will come.

Guides? lol, pretty much around here you have little lakes that are good, the big ones are junk, all of the good lakes are in oklahoma or missouri... granted there are some decent lakes about 2 hour drive from wichita that are in kansas.

I lived in Wichita for about 6 yrs in the 60s.  Lots of county, city, and state lakes within a 2 hr drive as has been stated.  There is also great deer hunting, pheasant, quail, and prairie chicken.  The wind blows constantly.  I don't think it has  changed, the wind adverage was 5mph 24/7.  Winter is bitter and Summers are hot.  Was a great place to live as a young man.  Made lifetime friends there.
