Lakes in KY with lots of weeds?

Featured Replies

I just moved away from KY lake and Barkley and now that the weeds are coming back I am going to miss some nice fishing.

That being said, are there any lakes around Lexington such as Guist, Herrington, Taylorsville, etc. that have weeds?

Cave Run Lake isn't ate up with weeds or anything but it has one very  large flat containing a large weed bed (probably a couple hundred yards long and at least 70 yards wide) that holds a huge population of Bass and Muskie.  I don't know if those estimates are anywhere close to correct though.  I have only fished the actual weed bed twice.  A lot of Muskie guides catch five and six pound bass out of it around this time every year. Cave Run is about an hour and a half from you.

If you go, good luck and I can explain the location of this grass flat to you.  Its on the main lake so its extremely easy to get to.
