bass diet in northeast(long island)

Featured Replies

would anyone be able to tell me ,will crawfish style soft plastics like the rage tail craw work here on long island. I fish mostly plastic worms in either reddish tints or straight black and have caught up to 4.5 pound bass. I cant get over the 4.5 pound hump and was thinking of introducing a new bait possibly, and wanted to know if anyone could help with this matter

I can say with confidence, without ever having fished Long Island, that soft plastics in a wide variety of styles, shapes and colors, will work just about everywhere.

My personal opinion, backed by personal experience, is that virtually any lure can be a big-bass lure. The trick is getting a lure near a big bass at the right time.

And a 4.5# bass ain't too shabby for New York, even in the downstate part. Good luck.
