fishing jigs in the charles river ?

Featured Replies

i have fished the charles river in waltham ma for years .

i have never fished a jig though because the water really isn't clean enough for crayfish to live and i know that a jig is supposed to mimic a crayfish . am i wrong do you think that i should try fishing jigs in these waters ?

I HAVE FISHED JIGS IN THE CHARLES AND HAVE CAUGHT PLENTY OF BASS ON THEM.THE JIG I USE THE MOST THERE IS A HOMEMADE (1/8 TO 1/4 OZ)BROWN/ GREEN PUMPKIN.BUT IF YOU WANT TO CATCH LOTS OF FISH ,THE NUMBER ONE BAIT IS A RAPALA DT 4,OR ANY SHALLOW DIVING CRANK IN DARKER COLORS.GOOD LUCK..........................

Jigs work well in the waltham area in the overhangs, brush, and wood in the river.
