I have about a dozen rods, some aren't even used yet. I have them stored in my basement and some of them now have mold on the handle . What can i do to prevent this? PS the rods are highend rods g loomis, st croix & diawa steez so i doubt its due to cheap material & the mold is both on the cork and the eva foam.

Yeah that cambridge rez is pretty strict, last time i got thrown out of there was by the guy that works for the cambridge DPW and he was escorted by two state troopers just incase i gave him a hard time. Lake cotituate has a lot of big fish and plenty of shore fishing.

what color spinnerbaites do you guys use in massachusetts ponds & lakes ? what color for clear & what color for stained water ? thanks in advance.

I just moved into a new house and i think i have mice , my rods are kept in the basement on a verticle wall rack and im afraid that the mice will get at the cork handles. I am limited on sorage space (i have a 2 year old) so they have to stay where the are.Someone told me that putting mothballs around them will keep the mice away. any other suggestions ?

I didn't say i wanted to get rid of any of my rods I WANT TO BUY MORE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My problem is that i have a lot of high end fishing rods (some i haven't even used yet ) but every time i get a little extra cash i start having convultions and i have to buy another rod....... WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME !!!!!!????????

i store mine upright w/the reels off and the drag backed off

i have 2 8030 reels and i love them BUT the problem i have is w/both reels sometimes when i cast the line gets caught on the line keeper that's on the spool (no matter how much or how little line is spooled )

i don't own an avid but i love my IMX but i'm in the market for a new 7' MH and the avid is almost 100 bucks cheaper than the IMX is the IMX that much better than the avid ?

what are the pros & cons of mono vs flurocarbon line ?

I was using suffix elite 8lb test , it's never given me a problem before. and the 2 fish i lost were no more than 5 or 6 lbs. tops.

I have been fishing w/ mono all my life , my reason is pretty much that i don't have a boat and do 99.9% of my bass fishing from shore and when i get snagged i'd hate to leave whatever many yards of line floating out there. What do you recomend for somthing w/low visability and is there anything that i should know before switching ie: does it really cut through guides , is it hard to to tie knots etc. thanks in advance for any help. ps another reason for making the switch is that the area i fish is pretty much off rocks and if i have somthing w/any size to it it's to far of a reach to grab the fish by the lip so i have to pull it up a few feet by the line and i've lost two huge fish in the past 2 weeks one because my line broke and the other because the hook itself snapped

I have a package of 8" yamamoto cut tail worms , it's my last one and i can't find them anywhere the longest i can find is 6".... Did they stop making the 8" or what ?

Every reel i own i've used hot sauce without a problem and that's why i didn't hesitate using it on this reel.

How is that Shimano or the store's fault? If I were Shimano, I'd say good riddance and don't let the door hit you where the Good Lord split you. IMO the problems you state present an interesting pattern. Are you using your reels to drive nails or as a bottle opener? the grinding was shimanos fault i wouldn't have put the grease in the first place if it wasn't grinding.

i pretty much always check a reel before i leave the store but the store closed at 9:00 and it was 9:10 and since shimano has always had a fairly good rep. i thought it was pretty near impossible to get 2 bad ones in a row . as far as the hot sauce goes i just thought i'd give it a try to save myself another trip to the store , i've returned reels before and they never opened the reel or else i never would have tried it.

I will never buy another shimano product again , a few years back i bought a sustain 2500 fd , it was a nice reel but not worth the 229.00 they get for them. A couple months ago i bought a new stradic fi the first time i used it the bail broke so i brought it back and bought a daiwa tierra (nice reel for the money) last night i had a store credit so i thought i'd give shimano another chance , so i bought another stradic fi and right out of the box it's making a grinding noise . I tried oiling i w/ the oil that shimano included w/the reel and it still makes the noise so just to save myself another 60 mi trip back to the store i tried quantum hot sauce reel lube STILL MAKES THE NOISE ! , finally i drove it all the way back to the store and they acknoleged the noise and open the maintence port saw the hot sauce and won't give me my money back or an even exchange because they say by using the quantum hot sauce it broke down the factory lube and that's what's causing the grinding. I'VE HAD IT !!!!! NO MORE SHIMANO AND I'M DONE DEALING W/ THAT STORE TOO !!!!!!!!
