Hi I was thinking of buying a daiwa certate spinning reel but i really hate the handle, I was wondering if the handle from a daiwa tierra would fit and if i would have to do any modifications to the reel or handle to make it work or would it just screw right on ? Thanks in advance for the help. John

Has anybody tried the new daiwa fuego spinning rods ? what do you think about them ?

Yeah ,i know shimano is pretty much out of the question , i've just never had good luck w/them in fact i just sold a sustain 2000 fd it was fairly new , only used 5-6 times but the handle and the rotor had a lot of play from day one. I just checked out a new one the fd and it also had the same play.

I am not looking for best for the money or a deal but in your opinion whats the best semi highend without going over $300.00.

i haven't seen a better spinning reel out there than the pfluger supreme 9 bearings & it's magnesium on top of that it has no play what so ever in the rotor or the handle unlike my shimano sustain that has so much play i got sick of it sold it and bought another supreme ONLY $100 BUCKS ! the only reel that i like better is the stella and the daiwa feugo but i don't think thay are going to drop to 100 bucks anytime soon, so i'll stick w/ the pfluger.

is the new 09 diawa feugo spinning reel 2500 the same size than the 08 model ? i haven't seen one in person but it looks bigger to me.

does the shimano sustain fe have a graphite side plate or aluminum ?

I am looking to buy a bsr 852 senko spinning rod , do you think the glx version is worth the x-tra 100 or so bucks or will i be happy w/the non glx mossyback version ? PS i have a bsr 803 mossyback that i love but i've never used a glx.

I have a steez spinning rod (STZ681MLFSA) and an imx spinning rod (SJR7832) and the steez doesn't even come close to the sensitivity of the imx . IT SURE DOES LOOK GOOD THOUGH !

my pb was caught on a st croix premeir that i closed in the car door so it was 3" shorter than it shound have been. btw it was 8lbs

Years ago when i was a kid my uncle took me carp fishing, he brought with him his brand new mitchell 300 reel w/a custom made rod that he picked up the day before , the rod alone cost him 200.00 and that was back in 1977, he went to take a leak and told me to watch his rod . I turned around to put more bait on my hook and heard a splash ,when i turned around the rod was gone. when my uncle came back he asked where his rod was , i just looked at him and pointed to the water. I don't think he ever took me fishing again.

i have 3 loomis rods 1 daiwa steez and a st croix legend tournament and you can keep those fancy split grip rods , sure they look fancy but i'll take my full cork loomis over any of my other rods .

The reels aren't really a problem those i can put in the original boxes and put them in the closet or under the bed , it's the rods that i'm concerned about.

the shortest rod is 6'6" and closet space is VERY LIMITED and under the bed is out of the question because due to limited closet space we use the space under the bed for storage, do you think the basement will be OK ?

I own 5 rods 3 g loomis mossyback, bronzeback, and an imx 1 daiwa steez and a st croix legend tornament My wife is pregnant so the room that i keep my rods is going to be the new baby's room so i have to move the rods . my 1st option is a damp musty basement my 2nd option is a shed in my backyard , the shed is insulated and has 2 gable vents and a ridge vent but i live in newengland so the temp is all over the place , for instance this past springtime we had (2) 60 degree days in a row then( 3) 25 degree days and then back to 50 .Where do you think is the safest place to store the rods , will the cold or heat hurt them? (ps the shed can reach as much as 20 degrees over the outside temp . in the summer and 20 degrees below the outside temp in the winter.)

i have a bsr 803 mossyback that i use for plastics and it's the most sensitive rod i own ( i don't own any junk rods) i can't imagine how sensitive the glx version must be . my next rod is going to be a BSR 852 GLX SENKO ROD.

do they make the new daiwa zillion rods in a spinning model ?

I did unbeliveable this past weekend, I took last friday off and went to the ashland rez. and caught 9 bass in about 3 hrs .Saturday i had about an hour of free time so went to the local rez , i caught 14 bass in 40 min , thubbrsday i went back to the local rez and got 5 more bass in about 25 min . Today i went back and caught 4 more bass and lost somthing really big , after about a 10 min fight it snapped my friggin line. So needless to say i've had a really good week. PS up to this point i was having a terreble season i only had about 7 bass on the season THANK GOD THE DROUGHT IS OVER !

Sorry but by the time I noticed the caps lock was on I was 3/4 done and i'm not a good typer so it would have taken me a while to do it again . But out of curiosity what does leaving the cap lock on have to do with respect anyway ?

I JUST WENT THROUGH THE POLL ARCHIVE ON THE BASS RESOURCE HOME PAGE AND ONE OF THE POLL QUESTIONS WAS "WHO MAKES THE BEST ROD" AND THE #1 ANSWER WAS QUANTUM W/30% OF THE VOTES & G LOOMIS WAS 2ND W/ 26% , NOW I KNOW QUANTUM MAKES A DECENT ROD BUT I NEVER THOUGHT OF THEM BEING IN THE TOP FIVE LET ALONE THE BEST . AM I MISSING SOMTHING OR WHAT?

I have a loomis mossyback bsr 803 jig & worm rod (non glx) and it's by far my favorite rod it is extremley sensitive . i also have an imx , a bronzeback a st croix legend tournament & a diawa steez and i would give them all up to keep that mossyback.
