I have a loomis bsr803 mossyback spinning rod that i love but i was thinking of selling it and buying a bsr 803 GLX do you think it's worth the extra money ? is it that much better or should i stick with what i already have?

i bought my new tierra last night and mounted it on my new legend tournament UNBELIVEABLE ! I have allways been into the shimano reels bit i think the're too expensive for what you get so i got rid of all of them except my sustain and i bought all pfleuger supremes extremely nice reel for the money. This tierra is also very nice for the money it's smooth and solid and works great w/ my new rod i highly recomend it the best 115 bucks i've ever spent.

I know that you can balance it yourself but you are adding weight to do that ,so aren't you contradicting yourself ? i'm not trying to be a wise a$$ i'm just asking.

WHAT IS BETTER FOR A SPINNING COMBO IF YOU COULDN'T HAVE BOTH WHAT WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE PERFECTLY BALANCED OR LIGHT WEIGHT ? (spinning only please)

I've never really had much luck at the twin coves but a couple of oldtimers told me that years ago they used to catch tiger musky there.

I am very serious , I have a sustain and it's a very nice reel but i don't think it's worth 250.00. when i bought it i got it for $99.00 because it was last years model and the new ones were comming in. WELL WORTH 99.00 BUT 250.00 I DON'T THINK SO.

has anybody tried this reel ? It seems pretty high quality for the price ($115.00) higher quality than the shimano sustain for $250.00 what do you think?

yeah there supposedly some big friggin pike in there . i don't know what it is about this year but i've had a terrible season so far , although i haven't put the time in that i have in past years.

Is that the dam near the dover line ? i hear there is a $h!tload of big pike there.

It kind of did look like that but the mouth was a little darker , i was fishing at a resivoir in waltham that i've fished for 30 years and never caught one of these. PS where are you in that picture it looks familiar

I was fishing the other day and i caught a bass that looked like a smallmouth and faught like one too BUT it was really dark (almost looked black) even the inside of the mouth was black , what the hell kind of fish was this?

where is a good balance point on a 7' spinning by new legend elite balances at about 3" from the center of the reel seat, Is that good or should i shop for another reel ? PS the reel i have is a pfleuger supreme magnesium.

I haven't used it yet but it seems very high quality i'll just have to see how it compares to my 3 loomis rods ,before i bought it i called them and asked them what i should buy for an all around rod and they told me the LTBS70MF tube . As soon as i get home from work monday i will mount my pfleuger supreme and try it out.

i am looking for a new all around spinning rod and i've narrowed it down to st croix legend tournament LTBS70MF and the fenwick elite tech ESR70MH-F i will use it with everything from senkos, spinnerbaits , jerkbaits , mepps #5 spinners & jigs What do you think?

I am in the market for a new spinning rod and i was thinking about a carrot stik , I went to a local tackle shop to check them out and the owner told me that they were having so many problems they dropped the carrot stik line . I thought that he was full of $h!t because i've heard so many good things about them on this forum , but he had 2 examples that were waiting to be sent back , one rod the handle wouldn't hold a reel steady ( it was loose in the reel seat no matter how much it was tightend) and 3 guides were loose, the other one the tip came right off (the tip didn't break ) but the guide just slipped off and 2 of the other guides were loose. pretty much the same problems everybody says they have w/the kistler magnesium.The store owner told me if they do what kistler did and switch to the fuji reelseat & guides he will start selling them again but until then he wants nothing to do with them. ........... Have any of you had these problems or should i take the chance ?

Who has the best deal on the shimano stella 3000 ?

i've been fishing this place for 27 years , my biggest bass was 8lbs. but for some reason this season i haven't been catching anything(3) so far this year. the only think i can think of is sometimes there's a group of people that fish there at night and i know they don't catch & release they take everything home to eat. so mabey it's fished out. after all it is a reseviore so it doesn't get stocked .

the spot that i fish at is a reserviour with the water high the deepest part (of the area i fish ) is about 10-12 feet deep , there is a small water fall that flows into it . It's 95 degrees today , what would you use to catch largemouth bass ?

I have a bsr 803 mossyback and it's my favorite rod I LOVE IT ! I can't imagine what the GLX must be like.

bighead i didn,t lose the fish on jigs i lost them on a size 10 x rap and 4" senkos. PS i am using suffix elite mono. 8lb test
