  1. before i bought my mossyback i called loomis and asked what kind of rod blank they used for the non GLX model and they told me it was a new blank in between the GL3 and the IMX
  2. today i took out my new kistler magnesium ts 6'6" med. spinning rod paired up w/a pfluger supreme spinning reel. it was the first time i fished this combo . it felt feally good light and well balanced, it also had great action and it casts a mile BUT ! it's not a sensitive as i thought it would be. i fished a reservoir that i've been fishing for 28 years and when it's low you can see the rocky bottom, so i casted where i know the rocks are and dragged a 3/8oz jig and barely felt anything so i tried my bsr 803 mossyback (NOT A GLX) and felt every bump the rod is extremely nice but i guess i'll stick w/my mossyback for jigging.
  3. Who makes the BASS PRO SHOPS johnny morris signature and johnny morris signature elite spinning rods, i've never fished one but it's probably the best feeling rod i've ever held unbeliveably lite ,and this is comming from a guy who owns nothing but kistler and g loomis rods.
  4. i wasn't bad mouthing the BPS reels i was bad mouthing the browning reels,i've owned 2 of them and hated them. as far as pfluger reels go i own 3 supremes and 1 shimano sustain and i will take my 99.00 supreme over my 229.00 sustain any day of the week. and i absolutly LOVE BPS rods.
  5. i would go for the pfluger i've been told that BPS ownes the fishing division of browning so all the BPS reels are browning and i personally don't like browning reels , rods are good reels NFG ! PS if you go on the BPS website is says that BPS branded items will have a yellow star next to them and the browning products have that yollow star.
  6. I think the best reel for the money is the pfeluger supreme $99.00 i love mine it's much smoother than my sustain & my quantum energy , i love it so much i got rid of all my other reels and replaced them w/ this reel . PS before i bought it i looked at the new stradic ,saros and the diawa tierra and went with the supreme a lot more for the money . Its magnesium and has 10 bearings and has a really nice drag system. here is a link i found the gives som insight GOOD LUCK http://www.setthehook.com/reels/plueger/supreme.html
  7. is that hi vis yellow line mono ? and whats the advantage to a hi vis line?
  8. I've never used braided line , doesn't it cut into the guides ? I have 3 loomis rods and 1 kistler and they were kind of expensive .
  9. I fish senkos a LOT especially yamamoto. I know the big thing about the yamamotos is the way they sink.My questions which line florocarbon(that sinks) or mono (which doesn't sink ) is there an advantage with either one ? Thanks for the help
  10. kistler makes an unbeliveable dock skipping rod heres the link for the spinning rod http://www.kistlerrods.com/p/KR/c-mt-spinning-rods/MgDSS63S.html i have the 6'6" all purpose , it's my only rod that's not a loomis and it's probably my favorite rod.
  11. their baitcasting reels are pretty nice it's their spinning reels that need work.
  12. I thought i'd give the ardent spinning reel another chance so i went back to the store and had the salesman open 6 reels (all he had) to see if the one that i originally looked at was just a fluke , but it wasn't they all had play in the handles and rotors and the nipples on the side cover . SO! i won't be buying an ardent spinning reel anytime soon.
  13. I think it's a piece of junk because the rotor had a lot of play and the handle had a lot of play too. The thing that really turned me off was the little plastic nipples sticking out of the side cover and rotof ,(example) when you break the pieces off a model kit and you have to get an exacto knife to trim that little nipple of plastic off , that's why i think it's a piece of junk. I hope i've enlightend you.
  14. what is the difference between japan tackle and other stuff? i assume it's better quality. why isn't it readily available in the US ?
  15. i saw one last night at the local sporting goods store and i agree that we should buy american but if everything made in america was as much of a piece of junk as this reel i won't be buying american.
  16. Yeah i know but that's a frikin nice reel !
  17. does anybody know of an online store that sells these reels. (NO E-BAY STORES PLEASE)
  18. is the shimano stella all it's cracked up to be ? or is it just hype? and what is the stella ARB ?
  19. G Loomis makes an awesome spinning rod that's really powerful the IMX SJR 724S they say it's their most powerful spinning rod.
  20. i had a johnny morris elite spinning rod 6'6" med action .the rod was incredible the only thing that i didn't like about it is it seemed to have too much handle so i returned it for a kistler magnesium . i really like the handle that they use. http://www.kistlerrods.com/p/KR/c-mt-spinning-rods/MgAPMH66S.html
  21. I love my 6'9" G Loomis Bronzeback spinning rod w/a pfeluger supreme 8035 reel. AWESOME COMBO !
  22. Has anybody tried ardent spinning reels ? How do you like them? I looked at their baitcaster and it felt kind of cheap, What do you think?
  23. If you could have only one spinning rod & reel setup what would it be & why ? brand, action, length, etc.
  24. I have never used a bps crankin stick but i have owned a bps johnny morris signature and signature elite they were very lite and very impressive . if the crankin stick is 1/2 the rod i'd go w/ that. PS love shimano reels HATE their rods.
  25. he's the type that if more than one person tells him somthing that's good enough for him .
