i live in ma. and i was wondering what color senkos you use for the different seasons. in dark  & clear water ?

I only throw them in the summer

watermelon and green pumpkin

I am not a fan of the infamous Senko, but if I do throw it I use Green Pumpkin, Watermelon Seed and Black.  

not using senkos now used shallow crankbaits and got a few. more than my buddies were getting with senkos. but fish watever u feel confident in doing in the fall

Watermellon seed yums work great for me.

I use the Kinami brand and only use 5 colors ever.

1. Natural shad

2. Gold shad

3. Watermelon w/blake flake

4. Green pumkin

5. Junebug

Now I do carry other colors and brands for when they are hitting anything? but when they are used up I will only be replacing the above.

texture and taste are far more important aspects of

these baits.

If you want to fish just one color, watermelon with

black flakes is a universal favorite. Green pumpkin

w/ black flakes is another. I also like black with red

flakes and black with blue flakes. When the fish seem

to be focused on baitfish, clear w/ black & silver flakes

is another option.

Chartreuse and only chartreuse. That's the only color you need... :-?

Black blue lamanet except for gin clear water, then I go to watermelon/blue flake.

low budget hooker i was just wondering you say that any color bait will work as long as there are fish there , do you have the same results using a bright pink senko or a watermelon senko, or black and blue compared to green pumkin in clear water for example...because for me when theres clear water i seem to be able to only catch fish on watermelon or green pumpkin and belive me i have tried hard not to just stick with the traditional colors. i have fished the different colors but no results.

Even though its close in color to the watermellon, there's a deeper green they call "baby bass" that seems to knock 'em cold for me where other colors fail.

I believe water clarity temperature time of year (season) and the place you are fishing are all factors of what color you choose SOMETIMES

Though there are colors that all year round out perform other colors

Last year early in the year on one lake and one pond I was using a 3 ½ green shad color senko (green/off white.)

Through out the year that same color at these two places worked better then any other color.

About mid year when the green shad was working I fished a black/red senko at a local lake and was out fishing just about every color...

My main chooses

Green/shad   shad    moss   red/black  

My fishing partner would use a blue/black mix and take control over the fish

All of them.  You care about the color more than the fish do so pick something eye pleasing  8-)

I have to agree, watermellon seed , pumpkin and dark colors with flake. Another decent color up here in the cold north, is sort of an ice blue with flake, whacky style.

When I use them, black/blue.....dark blue flake with a light blue tail, (wish Brent made this color!!! Hint...Hint!), watermelon seed with chart. tail, and green pumkin with chart tail.

And when I am struggling...EVERY OTHER COLOR IN THE BOX!!!! ;D

They were caught on the Tennessee River below Pickwick Dam.

Here in Western Ma, my favorite Senko colors are #1 Watermelon/blk flake and #2 Green Pumpkin/blk. flake (actually a brown worm!). And like rw said, taste is good indicator, along with falling action (tail has got to wiggle on the way down!). I've chewed on a few....and they do taste pretty darn good!  ;D

i have found just two colors work a dark color and a light color as for specifics just go with what you like

ps the only size i use is 3 in. wacky ds it don't matter the smallies just wait in line for it to hit the water ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
