Good day at Whitehall reservoir in Hopkinton Mass

Featured Replies

Well I got out to Whitehall Saturday evening, got in the water a little late 5:45. Came out of the ramp area and headed to the shore just off to the right after you get in the main area. Worked the shoreline of the little islands and main shoreline. Caught about 10 total with 3 keepers the biggest about 3 1/2 lbs all large mouth. Nice fish, very health. Caught them all in about 3-5 feet of water on a black 5" Yamasenko. Tried white and red spinner baits with no luck, also tried a little orangish swimming bait that runs about 3 feet down with no luck. Saw a few people all working spinners and they had no luck. This is a good lake, I always have luck here. Lots of structure under the surface that you cant see unless your either right on top of it or you have, like I do, polarized sunglasses. I have to say these are a must, you can see fish in the water that you would have never seen otherwise, along with structure and the such. You can get them for about 15 at Walmart.

Nice report!  I am thinking about heading there this weekend.  Do you stick to the islands for the most part?

Yeah I stayed mostly around the islands. I concentrated on places where I saw limbs sticking out of the water and if you can find those where there is some water top vegitation right around the stick ups you should do well. I am thinking about going back this weekend only this time to get there and be in the water by about 4..
