RI SB fishing

Featured Replies

I am new to posting here but have been reading awhile.  I am relatively new to throwing large swimbaits and was wondering where around RI I can still throw slammers this time of year and get bit.  I am looking to go on Friday if anybody is interested.

Greg

pretty much any big fish lake in RI will hit a slammer still.  Hits will be few and far between though.  Lots of big fish caught on slammers in the last few weeks

I've been having a hard time getting Bass to commit to my slammer. I see them follow it up to the boat on some occasions >;). I have had some better luck with sinking swimbaits such as Megabaits Charlie. As far as friday I would be interested in meeting up for some fishing. I go out every friday alone as everyones usually working. I have a Crawdad that I fish out of and know of some decent SB spots. Personel Message me when you get a chance, Anthony.

Like i said, in this weather the hits wont be many.  Try cranking the slammer down, or getting one the dives a little bit easier.  If you want a slammer fish, just take you SB rods and only slammers.  Build up confidence and use them enough to know how each bait acts.

I understand that Leathal. Its not a real cold water bait. I was just letting him know its not just where hes fishing etc. I fish slow baits this time of year like a jig worm or jerk bait and have been for the last 30 years or so  ;) . Thanks for the advice though.

I've had 2 followers in 3 weeks.  What's wrong with us??? ;D

You can't catch fish sittin on your couch ;)

As Leathal stated, the bites will be on the low side this time of year. I would recommend fishing the warmest, most stable water temps you can find. You might circle the whole lake and get one or two if your lucky this time of year, but it will ussualy be a decent fish. But what the heck do I know?
