Looking to do a long weekend the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend. Need ideas on lodging. Clean, cheap and as close to the ramps as possible. No pool, tennis court or even a bar is required.

Safe and able to plug in charger is required.

I recommend the Inn@Presque Isle. It's nothing fancy (but the rooms are clean and neat), prices are very reasonable, very close to several ramps including the Penninsula itself, and it's close to gas stations and eateries.

When you call to reserve a room tell them you are coming on fishing trip, they offer a discount for fisherman (it's like 20-30% if I remember correctly). Also tell them you would like a first floor room that you can park a boat in front of. There are outside outlets and you can also run a cord right out your window if necessary, I've done both.

If I may impose further: From what I have been able to gather there should be plenty of action within the bay during our trip (mid-May) but I have not seen a bunch on actual baits or techniques. I am thinking tubes, finnesse worms, stick worms, jerk baits?? Am I missing anything??

Will there any weed growth in mid-May yet??
