Jeff Reynolds Spinnerbait Trailer

Featured Replies

Just got my Bass Times today and it has an article in there about what Jeff Reynolds uses for his spinnerbait trailers. he uses 10" Zoom Ol Monster worms. He said it works great around standing timber and brush. Next spring i think I am going to try using this technique with like a Zoom U-tail worm. you can even put a trailer hook inside the worm. as for colors it says that he uses contrasting colors, like he would use a purple worm with a white or almost translucent spinnerbait. just passing this information out to you guys in case you hadn't seen this.

Yeah Flw had one about a pro (name escapes me) who was jig fishing with a lizard as a trailer and he caught 3 or 4 fish like that while the flw guy was riding with him.

man those ole monsters are BIG baits. it'd be risky using them on a spinnerbait unless you have a trailer hook. i'd like to try this, but i would have to be alone to avoid a " what-are-you-thinking-putting-on-that-big-worm-bass-aren't-going-to-take-that and then after a day of fishing without success see-i-told-you-so-what-were-you-thinking-putting-on-that-big-***-worm " situation. as for the contrasting colours, i would use a red monster on a white spinnerbait instead of a purple one, to simulate a hurt baitfish (or whatever they think it is) with a blood trail.

p.s someone try this out and see how it works
