Shore Fishing for Tidal Bass in Maryland

I live in Maryland, and I'm new to bass fishing. This year I'd like to catch some tidal bass. I don't have a boat so I'm restricted to shore fishing. Can anyone tell me a good place to try on the Potomac or Patuxent rivers (any other good places too)?

Also, what lures are best?
