craw cranks your opinions are welcome

Featured Replies

i am being annoyed by the bait monkey he is telling me to buy a craw crank kit with like 8 of them in there what are your opinions on this type of lure??? :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

I use 5 different craw cranks in different colors.

What brand is the kit...do you have a pic of it?

I like to use Craw cranks is clear water where bass can see the shape and coloring of the offering. The Rebel Craw is especially good, and if you use suspend dots to weight it for a neutral buoyancy, it will mimic Crayfish behavior better. Most times Crayfish don't float.... unless there dead.

Color can be taken a step further by finding what native or non-native Crawdads are around your area. By where I fish there are alot of Rusty Browns, so I use a like color and have success.

I think it is a preference thing, if you are convinced that they are really going to be more useful than any regular cranks, then go get them.

Find some rockpiles and bounce the cranks off them and you will catch fish. Wiggle Warts can't be beat imo...

Get the deep cranks n bounce then off the bottom if hits something really hard or diffrent fealing pause it, this is when i get most of my strikes. They seem to be a hit or miss lure for me.

I like to use craw colored crankbaits in the spring and late fall when the water is cold. I use Bandit cranks because I like the smaller profile.

I've caught lots of bass on Rebel crawdad in the spring.  I cast them tight to shore and keep them in contact with the bottom.  The hooks foul up often and you have to untangle them but it's a great bait.  I've got a buch of them to cover different depths and in different colors.  Best of luck.
