Sebago lake Help

Featured Replies

Hi I am going on vacation in a couple weeks to Sebago Lake in Maine. I heard it is a beautiful lake so of course i'm taking my boat.

I was wondering how the fishing is there and what types of baits and colors work well there and what I should be looking for as far as structure and fishing spots.

Thanks

Very deep and very clear water, deff.  a smallmouth lake, prepare for alot of boat traffic.

good luck

I dont know if either of you have fished sabego but its full of trout and salmon. You have to fish really deep with spoons and such. A friend of mine has had a camp up there since 92' his father fishes all the time a lot of the time comes back skunked but everyone around there says its a trout and salmon lake. He has caught a bunch of 20+ inch Trout and salmon.

I was just up there last weekend and its a beautiful lake to be on for sure. def hit up the sandbar by the river and going down the river through the locks to brandy pond and long pond is a nice ride.

Good Luck.

Assuming that you are staying at Point Sebago and regardless in a couple of weeks the wind will probably be out of the NW This would be a good area

I would fish smallies early (daybreak) around the Dingly Islands and save the largemouth for when the wind comes up. Except in the spring smally fishing is tough for most on Sebago.

There is a lot of wood and flotsam on the bends on the Songo and several little backwaters. In the muddy and kettle the largies will be on docks and rocks

Northern Bass Supply would carry a good map

hawgwalker,

Thanks for the great info. I'm looking forward to getting up there and checking out those areas.
