Would like to know the Condition of Presque Isle Bay, PA. I would like to get out on the Bay as soon as ice out occurs for some Pike or smallies. I tried to find a live cam of the bay on the net but could not find one. If you have a link please reply.

From word of mouth, bay is still frozen. Some areas are opening up though.

I'd guess that by next weekend there will be fishable water, may have to dodge a few icebergs coming in from the lake although.

I'll keep you up to date.

lagoons are mostly open, same with misery but the wind has the remaining ice pushed up against the bridge so you need to break ice to get out there.  the main bay is open almost to chestnut.  the pike are biting but the water is muddy with pretty strong current in the lagoons keeping the bass negative.

Stinkin, slimy, lure loosing pike, great .

There's a reason for me NOT to go. I loose more tackle to those things there. A couple summers ago a shattered a flippin stick on one in heavy weeds.

All kidding aside, first chance I get I'll be up.

whenever you want eric, my boat is open. i will be out all day tomorrow and friday- LOOKING FOR BASS. the weather has been warmer the last few days and the water is starting to clear up from all the run off.

i know this is kinda off the PIB subject but i called the office at Shenango lake today n they said it was open with no ice....im thinking about heading up there on saturday.  have any of you guys fished it this early in the year and is it worth fishing this early?

I wouldnt be scared to give it a go. Thanks for the updates I dont think we will be hitting the river this week so if PIB or Moraine or Shenango are open we might take a run up.

PI open, Shenango open, Arthur still has ice. (according to a guy I spoke to yesterday, said it was still ice as far as he could see from 528).

Sunday's forecast looks crappy but I'll more than likely be on the bay. I like a challenge!
