I live practically right around the corner from the New Milford and Teaneck stretch of the river and have heard of 20 pounders taken in this area, especially around the Riverside square area. I have fished at all the supposed times things get hot using crankbaits, swimbaits and spoons and have yet to get a single bite, in fact, I have yet to catch a single fish in this stretch of the river!  Any advice?

well im very familiar with the area and have fished on the docks behind riverside for a few years now and have never caught a striper back there out of the 50+ times ive gone. Tons of carp, perch, eel, and catfish though. If your looking to land a few stripers i would reccomend the passaic river, BUT i would strongly suggest you not eat anything out of that river.
