Anyone have any luck in SOUTHERN NH yet?

Featured Replies

Im going to see if I can get to Heads Pond in Hooksett this evening.  I bought this inflatable Kayak I want to give a spin.  It makes it so much easier to get into places that arent readily accessible for larger, heavier boats and I can carry it myself.  If I do get out, Ill let you know how I do. Good luck today if youre fortunate enough to get on the water.

Yes let me know. I am always up to try a different place. Good Luck.

Hit up Heads Pond in Hooksett last night with some friends.  Did well.  We caught a number of bass in the short period of time we were there, all pretty good size and they fought exceptionally well.  Lots of lilly pads in there.  They were tough to punch through.  We were dropping plastics in the small gaps.  Fish were boiling deep in the pads but none of us had a weedless frog to pitch in there.  I will be heading out to get one or two now though. We did get a couple of strikes as our lures were sitting on pads but the fish clearly missed them.  Pretty cool to watch anyway.

Access is a bit tricky, as you have to carry down a gravel path to a trail in the woods where you can put in.  No formal launch.  The inflatable I have was perfect.  The pond doesnt look to get much pressure.  I'll probably be making more trips out there.  Unfortuantely I didnt bring the camera in the inflatable.  I didnt want to chance getting it wet.

Way to go SausageFingers23. Thanks for the info also.

I hit up Rocky Pond today and caught 7 largemouth biggest was 1lbs 10oz and 3 Smallmouth. I was very happy to finally catch some smallmouth. Biggest smallie was 1lbs 7oz. Boy do they fight and I had one heck of a time tring to weight it.  I will say one thing about the fish I caught they were very thin so I assume there are not alot of bait fish. I did not get any bluegill hits on the senkos and that is very rare.  Here are some pictures.

Thats a nice pig bassmaster6. Good job. Is Kingston Lake big enough for a Bass Tracker or would the inflatable be better?

Great job UNH and bassmaster.  Im glad we all had success with out latest outings.

Just a general question - have you guys noticed how warm the water has been in the lakes?  The water in Heads Pond was actually hot.  It felt like bath water.  I was amazed.  The bass were still pretty agressive, though they were buried deep in cover.  Ive experienced this on a couple of other ponds as well recently and I cant remember the water ever being this warm.

Ya I can. Water was 79 where I was today and that's pretty warm. I have seen it up to 82 last year. Got to try to fish early or late now for the best luck.

Thanks unh and Sausage.

UNH-you could go either way, if it was my choice i would take the bass tracker, i took my 14' v-hull with just my 50lb thrust bow mount and it was a longgg ride back to the launch prob 20-30 minutes, In clarks its called Great Pond, if you end up going let me know!! ill meet you out there.

Sausage- Some of the smaller lakes i have been fishing have been warm i would guess water temps 75 maybe closer to 80, i wish i had a fish finder to tell.

Deff true today, most fish came before 8am, after that it slowed alot but they were still agressive and up in the shallows.

got out for a few hours after work with unhbass and we each caught a boatload of bass. we each caught a couple two+ pounders along with at least another 25 bass a peice weighting a pound or less. i got lucky and caught a 4.10#'er. this has to be one of the best fishing trips ive ever had. thanks again to unhbass for braving the rain. sorry i got us lost on the way back.

bassmaster6  check your PM's

Great job unh and nashuafisherman, sounds like a heck of a day. I got out for about an hour then it started getting really dark and because I have the soft top on my jeep now i can't stay out in the rain because the only way I can transport my boat is with the top down or it will tear the top, so that kinda limits my fishing when it starts getting dark and rains on its way,  I ended up going to Melendy pond again and managed a few decent ones, no pics today discovered the camera batteries were dead when I got out there.

Nashua fisherman nice bass. I got out last night and tried a new spot. Over at the bk in londonderry on 102 in between that and the cracker barrell restaraunt. Looks like a really nice spot thats just loaded with bass although got skunked.

thanks. me and unhbass got out again for a few hours this morning until it started raining. the fishing was real slow but we each managed a 3+ pounder. altogether ide say we caught about 12 fish. unh also caught a 2+ pounder.

got out last night up to massabesic had a great time.  walked about a mile in off of 28. found a perfect spot.  I got skunkrd however the gf caught a small crappie about a 10 inch catfish which was really cool.  and about a 13inch lm bass.  she was really happy seeing as she never catches anything but the sun fish.  coming out of there about 1am was a little scary with only 1 led headlamp.  gf is petrified of the dark so it was funny for me.

I didnt build the bridge that is there presently I built a different one but after it fell apart I removed all the wood and stuff and I walked back there a few days later and the bridge their now was up. Pretty sturdy actually just have to mind the last board it sinks in and u just have to quickly walk off. One of these days I am going to build a really nice one there.

Take it you have been fishing over their? Anyluck?

Just an idea!

We should probably consolidate this thread and the shoutout to NH fisherman. Seems like we are all posting around the general area!

Maybe start a totally new one thats just NH fishing and lock this and the shoutout thread.

Maybe make things a little more organized.

We have been through that subject already. I just post on both. It was my mistake. All NH people are more then welcome to post here also.
