jjm0414 Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Well with beautiful weather and a 42 - 17 pounding of UT what could make the weekend any better? Well just relaxing and fishing off a dock worked for me. Actually I enjoyed myself before the game. Got up around 7 and went down to throw in a few casts before heading to tailgate for an incredibly early 11:30 game. Those of you that read my previous post know that I am fairly to new to fishing and what happens but I catch one on my first cast! I think the time of day had more to do with it than anything and of course luck. I saw a bass near the top of the surface right before I threw my pumpkin seed worm in - unweighted. I could see his backfin popping out through the water and figure hell - lets see if he's hungry. Sure enough he bit and I got em. Probly a 1lb to 1.5 lb. I'll have a picture up when I get to the office in the AM. That was the first and only fish I caught. Came back around 6:30 PM and tried with a spinner and another worm with no luck. Got up today around 8 AM and tried some more with no luck. Went up to the north river and tried off some lilly pads and inlets but didn't get a bite! Well it was still fun and perfect weather. Let me know what you think I should try next time? Hope everyone had a good weekend. Really enjoy and appreciate reading everyones feedback. Take care. Jim Quote
BackOnTheWater Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Finally! A game that wasn't a squeaker! Roll Tide! I believe that your problem was the fronts that rolled through Friday and Sunday. The bite was tough up here as well, with Sunday being the toughest. I caught 8 LM on Saturday and only 2 dinks Sunday. Bluebird skies suck! I HATE pretty days! Good weekend to be there! Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted October 22, 2007 Super User Posted October 22, 2007 I may live in Texas, but I live and breath Alabama football.Several weeks ago one of our local sports stations had a callin for the best college gameday atmosphere and University of Alabama won it. Guess there are more bama fans in the Houston area than I thought. Only made the homecoming weekend so far this year but will make LSU and Auburn games for sure. Roll Tide. Quote
natanestaban Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD TIME. I WAS THERE TOO. I AM GOING TO TRY TO GO TO THE LSU GAME AND DRAG THE BOAT TO LAKE T SUNDAY IF I CAN TALK THE BALL AND CHAIN INTO IT. ROLL TIDE, NATE Quote
jjm0414 Posted October 24, 2007 Author Posted October 24, 2007 Great shot. It was an awesome game. My girlfriends family just offered me tickets for LSU so I am pumped. Im not going to get to T-Town until late Friday because I fly back to Atlanta Friday afternoon for a business trip. Hoping to get some fishing in early Saturday and then take a full day Sunday. Hope you can make it to the game. Jim Quote
