My first year of bass fishing (No.VA)

Featured Replies

I was bored and thought since the season is kinda coming to an end  :'( i'd share some of the highlights of my first year of bass fishing!  Many first for me and I'd like to thank everyone who's been there to teach me this wonderful sport!

Below is a link to the pictures.  All fish were caught in Northern Virginia.  With all these things coming up I don't think I'll have time to go out and fish for awhile.

Moderators, I apologize if this was the wrong place to post this.  I just wanted to share with my fellow No. Va'ers

Good job fishing this year, you got some hogs.  What lake or river did the 7lb 2oz LMB come out of?

Not bad for your first year!  :)

Thats pretty good for a rookie.......... :). I need to carry a camera, that was pretty cool. That biggun' is a nice looking fish. What time of year was it caught , what and what color was it caught on?

Thanks guys!  Of course there have been a good number of other fish caught but those were just the highlights.

The 7lb'er came from a lake that is closed to the public.  The park authority was nice enough to let my friends and I fish on there but I guess too many people started showing up so now it's off limits till the park reopens.

The fish was caught off a watermelon with black flakes Senko, fished weightless. My buddy had to jump into the water to lip her cuz i had no idea how i was going to land her.  This was about 2 months after i started fishing!  This was at the end of June.

Thanks for the positive remarks! Hopefully next year will be even better.

Off limits............ I'll guess Lake Mannassas?

no, but I have been on lake manassas.  I wasn't aware that it was off limits when i went with my buddies.  We launch from his back yard on a jon boat and rowed into the lake.  It wasn't till later that day when i did a search on that lake did i find out that its closed to the public and even land owners!! my friends have fished that lake all their life and had no idea either.  There were no signs posted.  That is an amazing lake...I wish they'd open it back up.

The lake is around there though!

i know that area pretty well and I can't think of any other lakes near there except Brittle and Crocket, both of which are public... are you lying to us? do you have some secret access to Heaven (lake manassas) that you're keeping to yourself? i would to, i would never jeopardize that privledge.  god i miss that place.
