What's going on in NoVA? =D
Piece of advice fellas, little itty bitty differences can change your outing completely, good or bad. Take those $3 pack of hand warmers, get them hot and sit on them to keep that *** warm.

What's going on in NoVA? =D
Well I just got a new rod (Kistler magnesium 7' Heavy) and the purpose of the outing was to use it and decide how i liked it. Turns out I love it, it's perfect for carolina rigs, texas rigs, jigs and swimbaits. I threw all of the above and the swimbait is what did the trick. I let it sink all the way to the bottom of the 27ft and reeled it back SLOW and all the sudden the line was heavy. First cast too, which in turn led to no more bites.

I went out last Friday after thanksgiving and landed a real nice fish on a swimbait about 15 ft+ down on casting out from some riprap, my guess was right around 5 lbs, only bite i had. I got some random guy to take a pic. The following day I met with Rob, Drums and Dan and we all got skunked, trying multiple techniques.

8-)- Small lake/pond boating in NOVA.
Electric motors are allowed on Braddock but the lake is private and only residents may fish there.- Any NoVA angler's been out lately?
my guess is that the posting has slowed down due to certain people whining, it gets old... that's at least why i'm not here as often, sucks now-a-days- Dusk/night fishing anyone?
why not Happy hour with the fishing crew then fishing, Rob and I have had some fun nights... especially when the fish aren't biting- Dusk/night fishing anyone?
I can't make it, I'll be at a wedding in Austin, TX.- Dusk/night fishing anyone?
I had a good time, it was a slow night but at least we caught some fish, even if I didn't do anything to catch mine , Rob and I were B.S.'n and right as i went to pull my lure out of the water SLAM! and Rob and I about had a heart attack as weren't expecting. Glad you liked the rod Rob, it was nice to see someone else catch a fish on a rod i paid so much for ;D Mike we'll talk further about future fishing.- first time using lures.....suggestions needed
pig, i know they will get you bites, i was just saying it's a little far fetched to say you'll get bit anywhere anytime if you're using a senko- Dusk/night fishing anyone?
Rob and I came to the same consensus... Royal it is I have no idea when i'll be there, best case scenario 5:30, most likely 6:30-7, worst case, never... cause i died speeding to get there.- first time using lures.....suggestions needed
you must catch hundreds of fish evey outing! keep thinkin' that way...- Dusk/night fishing anyone?
I'm in for Royal as previously suggested, Burke Lake would be sweet but with the pretty much guarantee of heavy and consitent rain i'd rather not get the boat out, it's a whole "to do". I say Royal after 7 or so, as of now there is a gap between 8-10 of no rain, but who really knows. Last time we had those heavy rains i caught my best fish of the year right in between rains. - My thoughts on hook sets and pegged unpegged weights
